Replay didn't show a foul, just Lo-Jack tripping on his own big feet.

Your bad luck the refs aren't Lomax hating psychos.

Did you watch the replay? There was no foul and I’m telling the truth. I don’t hate Lomax, I’m pissed at him! Going forward in the NCAA tournament you have to be damn near perfect to advance and after all these years with Penny plus the time at Memphis he should be perfect. Tyler Harris basically got run off because he wasn’t doing well or Penny needed the scholarship so he went away for a year, worked his ass off then came back being the best he could possibly be considering his size. Lomax has had it way better than that so it pisses me off, same with Malcolm.

Quote:Did you watch the replay?

I watched the game. Now I am reading a post from a little stalker man who has nothing better to do than bash Lomax.

The difference between you and I aside from you not being very bright, is that my opponents are the teams and coaches we play and the refs. Your opponents, are our coach, and our players.

Do yourself a favour and have someone you care about read all of your posts. They will laugh at how pathetic you are when they realize that we haven't been losing every single game.

It will probably do you a lot of good to have a loved one tell you what a petty, sad little man you are.

He was on Davis the entire game and held him to 3-13 from the field, AND scored the same number of points. The Lomax hating psychos can suck on that.

7 TOs or not, Alo played really well overall today. He left it all on the court.

Gotta stop leaving his feet with nowhere to go, but he did a lot of good things today. Loved the block he got at the rim to prevent an easy runout layup.

Also needs to stop picking up his dribble 25ft from the basket for no reason. But he's a senior so it won't stop.

I agree, i think this win puts us in as the 7 seed.

I think they may have us with a 6 with the intention of flipping us to a 5 if we win or a 7 if we lose. They have those scenarios baked in so that they dont require additional time after the game to do it.

Come on man, there is no way we are a 6, much less a 5 seed.

7 is our ceiling, imo. Probably and 8 or 9 even if we win tomorrow.

Now I feel confident about a 5 or 6 seed, just because of how often you are wrong.

Exactly. Lomax’s defense was crucial—and we knew going in that stopping Davis from going off was perhaps one of the biggest keys to winning this game. Think about what Lima did, folks, against the league’s MVP, who also had something to do with causing a few of those Lomax turnovers.

Lomax outplayed Davis...Based on Stats...

Granted Lomax had a ton of help on defense.

But he hounded him and caused him to turn it over...Made some baskets, blocks and steals.

Skidmark says we are the same with Williams (34-10) as we are without him (7-7). Tell us again about our 4 game losing streak 3 months ago. Keep the laughs coming.

#0 on everybody's list..

Just curious - what happened to Lawson today? I thought I saw him in the game in the first half, after Duren and Williams got their early fouls. But the official boxscore doesn't show him participating at all. I would have thought he could have helped with a few minutes when we had all the bigs in foul trouble. Anyone know anything?

Thank you, sir, for speaking up. I agree.

I second this. This guy plays his heart out for this team every game. He had a bad game turnover wise. Let it go and enjoy the win.

His chase down block of Davis then running back down the court to receive the ball and alley oop it to Williams was one of the plays of the year

Had that been late in a close game it would have been the play of the year

Massive defense and help defense on Davis

A few too many turnovers but a few of those were bad calls and one when he was passed the ball with 5 seconds on the shot clock and he was out of position

He was rock solid tonight

SMU is a terrible matchup for him. He is too slow to be out there on the court against them. Also, Timberlake spent a significant amount of time at the 4 and played a very high level.

One of the best games for Penny as a head coach. We had every excuse to lose this game. Williams fouls out with 10 left. Duren out 80% of the first half and then injured for a decent portion of the second half. Malcolm was in foul trouble and so on. But we managed to keep control of the entire game, sans one small run by SMU. We were prepared and the players absolutely played their hearts out.

RE: ***The Official Memphis vs SMU Basketball Thread***
This was a gutty win as foul trouble and injuries turned an 8 point lead into a 4 point definition fairly late then kids tougher it out

Several of those this season

More than offset losing that lead late at ECU when playing down 6 players

We were down 5 at Houston late in the game and roughed it out with back to back threes then lock down defense

Down FIFTEEN at Tulsa in the second half down several players and roughed out a comeback win
Down about 8 to Temple late in first half before slobber knocking them

Were hit with a 9 three pointers in ten minute barrage yet pulled away and won big last night

Tough team
Didn’t have that toughness in the early season 4 game losing streak. Iowa State was excusable they got caught but they let that hang over them the next three games

Not now!

Maybe Houston wins. But it won’t be because our kids were not tough

No he didn't play Saturday. Played a good bit Friday - probably what you're thinking about. It's a tough matchup for him - but no tougher than it is for Malcolm. So maybe he was banged up a bit from Friday. But Timberlake did play that role pretty well today.
