Personally, I'm chomping at the bit to start cutting grass again.
I have really given up on the Reds since they decided to sell in 2014 or 2015. The ownership group really does not understand how to build a roster, and the franchise feels like its about 20 years behind the times. I saw a tweet last night that likely spells doom and gloom for this Reds season..
"Reds have lost 54 starts and 298.1 IP at a combined 3.74 ERA from their 2021 rotation and only received a single, 18-year-old player in return."
I can't imagine this front office will come close to replacing that production. The team is terrible at developing players, and won't spend the money on players who are already been developed. We are just a farm team for the rest of the league right now.
Its like I was just a day too early with this comment. This franchise has no interest in building a team. They exist solely to inflate Bob's ego and to line his pockets.
this generation's version of the montreal expos
It was a few decades ago the Reds were basically a farm team for the Yankees. Until baseball fixes their financial system, it will always be about just a few haves and a lot of have nots.

He actually may not be making money. MLB's revenue system is so big market advantaged that small markets cannot rise to the top except in a rare year. In the NFL the big markets have a financial advantage but not enough to tilt the scales regularly.

I'm sure that he lost boatloads of money on the 2020 season. He had many roster upgrades before the season and then COVID hit. He basically had no revenue stream and had increased salary by a lot. I'm sure that as a businessman first, he wants to try to recover from that before making more upgrades to the roster.

I tend to agree on the FCC stadium location. Not exactly the most convenient place to put it. That being said, the stadium itself is SPECTACULAR. Went there twice for FCC and USA/Mexico last year. Fantastic experience. Just need a quality team to justify the stadium now.

Despite being in the hood, at least it is close to CPD District 1 for reporting crimes!
