They are surprisingly OK with mediocrity for such a big name school. I am astounded they have kept him this long.

Am I crazy for saying that had FRW not killed football, propelling us to the miracle run, Haase was on the hot seat here?

I would say so. However, I think that the FRW chants at the games helped us win the tournament that year.

Winning that CUSA tournament and the first round game was the only time Haase exceeded expectations at UAB IMO. He wasn't bad, but wasn't outstanding either. He just wasn't exciting to me and didn't seem to fit in at UAB (neither did Ehsan, and was a much worse coach). I think he would've hung around another few seasons.

I don’t think so…he was just starting his 3rd season with a very young team. I think he’s a very average coach, but I think he was still a couple seasons from the hot seat
