Here is the link to what hiroshima referred to. Its a good listen
Link

I think that is our identity. Forcing steals and getting easy buckets in transition. Yes if a team takes care of the ball it forces us to be different, but I am ok with us dialing up pressure. It works.

RE: 2022 Women's NIT
seton hall just about gave away their lead at the end to vcu with pressure.

at one point in the season i think the transition game was one of a few ways we could score. towards the end it became one of the only ways. it's disappointing because i think we can be better than that. we're usually an offense that moves the ball really well. leonard and brulger have played really well in the post at times. hopefully all those things show up again and we can finish off this run.

there's still so much bitching about it. until that stops...i'm going to keep bringing up the positives about it.

i found out today the pacific league in japanese baseball has a tv package. it doesn't include the carp because it's the central league. it may have terrible video quality. but if i'm able to watch japanese baseball for the first time in 5 years...i'm not going to care.

15+ years ago, we would not have been able to watch this game. It would have been broadcast on this archaic thing called a radio, something that colleges don't use much anymore for their broadcasts.

10 years ago, it would have been free. I remember watching Drexel's 2012 WNIT game at Fairfield for free using the same platform that Drexel used to use.

Here's the thing. My FLO subscription ended yesterday, so I had to subscribe for another month for $12.50 just to watch one game. If Drexel wins and their next game is on the road, I'm going to have to get another subscription, this time ESPN+ to watch Drexel play BC or Columbia. That's not FLO's fault, but it's annoying. If they offered a one day pass for $5, I would have done that instead.

Below is the link to FLO's BBB profile. They get an "F" rating. Now how many businesses should you be bragging about that gets an F in customer service? Imagine if the hospital or practice that you worked at got an F rating by your patients? Imagine if your patients gave you that rating.

The reason for that rating is that they are not upfront about their pricing model. There is no reason why they shouldn't post their prices on their homepage. They don't. And they don't offer a one day pass like most services do. They piss off a lot of people with their auto renew and no refund policy and they just don't care. The CAA really shouldn't be doing business with a company that gets an F in customer service. But in their defense, the BBB site probably got trolled by JMU fans, but still.

RE: 2022 Women's NIT
Yes we need to keep running our motion on offense with lots of cuts. However big teams can clog the lane then we start turning it over. It also doesnt help when we have 1 or 2 on the court that add nothing on offense. That makes it harder to be successful. Teams only have to focus defense on Brugler, Washington and Nihill. So to counter that, we need the pressure and transition points. You have to have Mariah and others on the court, because they are a part of why we are so solid on defense. It becomes a catch 22. That is why the bench is important. If a Hendrixson can come in and hit some shots it opens our offense up tremendously. In a game like this, we should really dial up our pressure early and try to blitz them early, back off if able then press later on if needed again.

That was a tough one tonight. Offensively they had their best game in a while. It looked for a bit like they might pull out an improbable win, but lost their composure a bit late in the game. Still a fantastic season winning 28 games and tying a program record.

at least we went down playing good basketball. we were playing like a team again...at least after the first quarter when we were settling for threes again. i thought we were good when we got up 9. give them credit for speeding the game up and knocking down shots down the stretch.

terrific season. i saw kate connolly back on the bench which was good to see. i'm assuming keishana has another year. hopefully she sticks around and helps transition us to amy's next group.

i looked up espn+ and they have a d- rating. less responses and a better grade if you'll take a d- over an f...but i'd be working fast food if that was an ok difference.

most of the day passes i remember were more than $5...and sometimes in the $10-15 range. you would have had to pay a fee for the next away game too. so an extra month of flo was a deal...plus you had the other wnit game which would have been worth watching had we won.

they need to do better if they're billing yearly packages for month subscriptions. it looks like they're answering the complaints. i just get the yearly subscription so i don't run into that problem.

i got to see essentially every game of a historically great drexel women's basketball season. i got to follow denise dillon bring the nova women up to speed. now i get to watch all the sprint car racing i can handle. maybe i'll watch some drexel softball games and caa football gets started in the fall. i enjoy it...and i'm still tired of all the whining.

ESPN probably gets the bad ratings because of "politics"

not sure if you don't like the "politics" or you've talked to other people who feel that way. easy answer is don't watch it for any of their other programming...which stinks anyway aside from 30 for 30. the only time i'll watch espn this weekend is women's basketball and formula 1.

i've seen the same complaints about the quality of the feed with espn+. people expect things to run perfect. when you've spent parts of your life chasing boot leg feeds trying to watch your teams from foreign countries...having a one stop shop is amazing. maybe one day espn+ and flo will merge. i consider this business to be just getting started...which is another reason to stop whining and just see how it all plays out.

RE: 2022 Women's NIT
Tough loss. Our run to get up 9 was a lot of fun. Seton Hall had a lot of open 3's and they hit them. 4th quarter they put on a clinic, so credit to them. If Seton Hall shot that crazy all game we lose by 50. That effort is a game I think we can all live with ending our fantastic season. Losing to a good team is acceptable. I also hope Washington returns, otherwise we will truly see what rebuilding looks like under Amy.

RE: 2022 Women's NIT
There were some exciting games last night in the WNIT. UCLA beat Wyoming in 3OT's. And in the Bronx, Columbia had a huge 17 point comeback against Boston College to win, which resulted in a huge court storming. Great to see some great school spirit by a school that generally has not been very good in basketball. Columbia will now HOST Boston College next week.

Of the 8 teams left, only 4 are from the major 6 conferences.

not really sure where to put this...but i saw the delaware coach left for arizona state. i think it's interesting to see where a good caa coach could potentially go especially since our coaches stick around. we're luck in that sense. i hope she does well.

Wow. That's shocking. I didn't see that one coming. And all she did was won one championship in like 6 years with a potential WNBA draft pick on the roster. It's kind of funny how things work out. Win one championship as a mid-major and you're automatically bait for the big majors.

I wonder what the Seton Hall coaching situation would be if St. Peters didn't go on their wild run. Would Holloway still be their new coach, since he's a SH graduate? Or would SH be going in a different direction?

Dont think it would have changed. Seton Hall coach advocated for him before they went on their run, since him leaving for Maryland was a very poorly hidden secret.

RE: 2022 Women's NIT
Last night in the semi-finals, South Dakota State beat UCLA and Seton Hall beat MTSU by 1. So the championship will take place in South Dakota on Saturday. Nice to see all of the Power 5 schools eliminated and a mid major hosting.

Something I found rather interesting about the WNIT is that only 2 schools, Wisconsin and Marquette have appeared in the championship game multiple times. No school has won the WNIT more than once, and no school has hosted the championship game more than once.

True. The NC State/UConn game was outstanding.

South Dakota State crushed Seton Hall in the finals. 82-50. The Jackrabbits were likely a favorite at the beginning and should have been dancing, instead the went to the NIT and won it. Good on the them.
