Former Blazer Jordan Swing gets out of Ukraine before Russian invasion
Former UAB player Jordan Swing was in Kiev to play professionally basketball when he got word from the American embassy that he needed to leave the country, nine days before the Russian invasion. He and his wife made it out okay.

I read a story about another American basketball player who had to escape Ukraine across the Romanian border.

Meanwhile, Brittney Griner was detained in Russia for apparently having a vape product that was traced with cannabis. She was arrested shortly before the conflict started in Ukraine but with Putin saying the sanctions against him and led by the US is an act of war, I fear Griner may face some hard times ahead. She could possibly be facing up to 10 years in prison if charged.
