I like Chrostwait's cheering and passion on the bench. Wish she was playing.

Kazemi/Kuster like.

No, she doesn't have that height. Much more like Erica. Great positioning and great hands.

Marshall going with the 3/4 court press. So far no issues.

Yeah, until that TO/steal and foul for 3-point play. Stop with the jinx.

That wasn't press related, that was just Fisher dropping the ball.

69-55 Rice. Marshall on a bit of a run. Need some big plays. Kind of out of rhythm on the offensive side.

Awful boxing out on FT, allowing Marshall offensive boards and then we foul, and now another turnover. Very sloppy last couple minutes. Stop the unraveling.

Rice 69-55 @ 5:10

Fisher being given a rare rest at the 4:48 media TO. I'd be surprised if she's out more than a couple minutes.

Rice 74-57 @ 3:42.

3 from Bokunewicz might be the dagger. 74-57 Rice, 3:59 left. Apologies in advance for the jinx, Walt.

And I think Fisher is out because she's had a few really sloppy possessions in a row. Still think we need her in for the rebounding, though.

Continue making our FTs (we're now 25-27) and this one should be ours.

And we did this with a very poor game from Jackson, who just committed her 5th and 6th turnover. 0 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists in 37 minutes so far.

RE: CUSA WBB Conference Tournament
80-62 Rice, final. A pretty good first tournament game for Edmonds and co. Yes, there's stuff to work on. But an 18-point win with Austin in foul trouble and Jackson held in check is all you can ask for. 17 points, 16 rebounds, 4 assists for Fisher. 19 combined for Bokunewicz and Swayze on 5-11 from 3 (that's more like it). Austin and Gooden with 19 and 13 respectively. And Bellamy with 10, 5 of those at the beginning of the 3rd quarter when Marshall had made a run and looked like they were going to close it up even further. Fisher is probably my player of the game, but Bellamy made two of the most impactful plays in the game.

Should add that the refs were not good and I'd be upset if I was a Marshall fan. The test I use is putting myself in the shoes of the other team and asking whether I'd be complaining. I definitely would be. I think the whistles were largely consistent, but favored our style of play. Next up is Charlotte, who we lost to in four overtimes with basically 5 players.

RE: CUSA WBB Conference Tournament
Rice 80-62 final. 04-cheers

Fisher: 17 points, 16 boards, 4 assists, 2 steals
Austin: 19 points, 3 boards, 3 assists in only 19 minutes
Maya B: 13 points, 10 boards, 2 blocks
Gooden: career high 13 points, 4 boards
Bellamy: 10 points, 2 boards, 1 block in a season-high 21 minutes

We finished 25-27 (93%) from the charity stripe.

And we've now won 7 of our last 8, with the lone loss being the double OT road loss to LaTech.

Keep it going, ladies!

This is a really nice win...extending the season record to 14-12. Can another win perhaps lead to the inclusion in a post-season tournament?

This team only loses one senior (McCurry) and has two players returning from season-ending injuries along with the top-rated recruiting class in C-USA. The future is bright for this program.

Great win. This team seems so much quicker then when Langley was here and Fisher looks like a future star for Rice. I would not be surprised she breaks Erica rebounding record at Rice .
