Alex Wright injured doing bench press at the combine
Hope it doesn't hurt his draft stock too much. Anthony Rush injured his foot in the pre-draft process and that was the primary reason he wasnt drafted.

By all accounts he had performed well at the combine before the injury.

I think he overall helped his stock or at least solidified the scouting reports that have him as a solid mid-round prospect. Scouts will like his athleticism. I doubt the injury will scare anyone off. Alex is seen much like Jordan Smith in that anyone drafting him likely does not expect a major year 1 impact as he is raw and needs development time.

RE: Alex Wright injured doing bench press at the combine
One theme I've noticed over the past few years is a reference to our players' lack of strength. That is, scouts mention their needing time in the weight room to develop their bodies. That was a knock on jordan Smith and has been said about Wright this year. I guess that's not too big of a surprise as a primary difference between the G5 and top P5 schools is the siez speed ratio. Top P5 schools get guys out of HS that are physically ready for college FB while G5's generally have to build them.

I think it is a reflection of the type of late bloomer UAB gets and develops. Especially these tall guys we turn into monsters on the edge.
