I received my HAF packet today and I am very disappointed. I wanted to renew my season tickets via regular mail, but there is no ticket renewal form in the package. They keep pushing online renewal, and it looks like that’s the only way to do it. Tickets, seat license fee, and parking are done online. I will refuse electronic tickets, and if that’s the only choice, they will lose many season ticket holders, including me.

Watch out for the donation form. They include the seat license fee in what you donated last year, but you can’t include it this year as a donation. So, if you want to donate what you did last year, better dig deeper because you will need to replace the seat license portion of your donation. Nope, sorry!!
DogFan- I like to get the mailer and then call to renew everything. This works for me perfectly. Are you saying you prefer to do the entire loop via mail?

Yes. That is my preference as that is the way that works best for me. Everything paid with a paper check. My donation is several thousand dollars, and I prefer not to put it on a credit or debit card. I should have the right to pay as I wish.

RE: Football Season Tickets
I am certainly not pleased at all with the HAF donation being changed to a personal seat license. To maintain my long-held parking privileges, I would need to now donate an additional $300.

I have been a season ticket holder for over 40 years and this may very well be my final year. I have had two chair-backs from the first year they were offered. The parking privilege has been a welcomed benefit of my previous donation level, that will now be quite expensive ($50 per game to park).

Keep making harder and people will go away.

Understood, we all have our rhythm that we like this to go. I am sure they will work this out with you.

I completely agree with you. This may be my last year, too. I am simply disgusted with how they are doing things (or not doing them). They are making it very easy for longtime, dedicated fans and donors to walk away. I’ll be happy buying individual tickets for the 4 games I attend or just watch the games on TV. I’m too old to play their games.

Also, that seat license adds to the cost of your season tickets. I have 4 seats. So that’s a bit over $640 plus another $600 for the seat license. So, for the four games I attend, that’s over $300 per game, or $75 per ticket. (All four of us don’t always go.). You can’t deduct that, but at least in the past, I could deduct that $600 chairback fee.

New season ticket holder. Why do they send me paper when I can see everything online? Waste of money.

Because a decent amount of people prefer paper. If paper in the mail - rather than checking ticketmaster online (which some have had trouble working in the past) - is the difference in even just 1 or 2 people renewing, then it was more than worth the money.

Yes, and even though I asked for paper ticket renewal forms, I did not get them. So, I will have to renew online or via phone. I wanted to pay via check, but that is now looking like a distant possibility. Wouldn't they rather have a check to save on the credit card fees? I guess not. And they are certainly not pleasing me - their customer.

I guarantee you that there will be a backlash from not including the ticket renewal form in the HAF packet. I know a lot of people who renew that way.

I picture Dog Fan sitting in the front window of his double wide waiting for the postal person to deliver his daily mail. It is like Christmas everyday. Yes! Another useless circular delivered today.

I hope what I think may happen doesn’t happen. In the past, they said you had to maintain at least the same donation as prior year in order to get your same parking spaces (numbered spaces are assigned in Lot A). Last year, the premium seat fee was part of the donations. So this year, you will need to donate that much more to maintain last year’s level. This could get messy.

RE: Football Season Tickets
The HAF packet donation form is so screwed up, I'm not even sure how to complete it. If they can complicate a simple thing, rest assured they will. They included my supposed last year's gift, but I have no idea where that amount came from. It's more than I donated last year. But, if I don't donate at least that amount, I may not get my assigned parking spaces. Then, you can donate to a sport specific (which I do), but there is no place to designate the sport or amount separately from other donations. I may have to lay it all out on a separate sheet and hope they don't screw it up. Plus, you can't renew your season tickets via a paper form. You MUST do it online or via phone. This is the last year for me.

my total that i donated last year was also wrong, Then I figured what they did, was add what you had for premium seats to your actual donation last year. That is no longer included to get you to the donor level because of tax changes. Since I'm already above what I need for my parking I ended up giving the same amount as last year, not their new factious 100% (which to me is almost double dipping).

As far as tickets go, I sent an email weeks ago and they sent me a paper form with all my details and I just sent a check in with that. I would assume you could do the same, by logging in under your account, printing the invoice, then send your check in with it

I guess I'll see how bad mine becomes as I also sent in money for Kentucky seats

I find their reasoning to be absolutely insulting. The “tax changes” position is a blatant misrepresentation. The tax change only affected the deductibility of the donation for tax purposes. It has NO impact of their ability to provide benefits in exchange for the donation. Two entirely different issues.

Certainly parking privilege levels could have been maintained as part of the personal seat license payment.

You are absolutely correct. It’s simply a way to extract more money from us, and I’m not falling for it. I give plenty, and I will not increase it.

These are among the reasons we keep seeing/hearing that STF is a candidate for other AD jobs and is still here.

Don't get me wrong---I know that the state has struggles and STF has a great, impeccable track record on getting the university out there on diversity awareness and awards.

But, I would guess after those couple bullet points I can't imagine other schools being enamored with his history here of attendance, growth, hires, long standing relationships, building a donor base, upgrading with what he has to work with, confidence from the alumni, etc.

There is a radical part of me that somewhat believes that he's that, maybe qualified, NFL coach that gets on a lot of interview lists because of the Rooney Rule.

We've been hearing now, for multiple years, that he's a candidate---and for some much more prestigious universities than ours----at some point, you think the blind squirrel would find the nut.
