WBB vs. UTSA
17-13 Rice end of 1Q. We should win this one going away. 17 points in a quarter where we missed a bunch of good looks. Above average defense and the same execution over the next three quarters should mean a 10+ point win.

24-19 Rice. Quality of looks we're getting, especially from 3, is some of the best of the season. Just not hitting them consistently.

RE: WBB vs. UTSA
36-27 Rice at the half. Really the lone positive of the half was the looks we were getting. The downside is that we've missed a lot of them (5-18 from 3 on mostly good looks). We've also had a few defensive breakdowns, made a lot of sloppy plays, and missed a few semi-easy shots around the rim. But it's unquestionably good, regardless of the opponent, that we can struggle a bit in a half and still be up by close to 10. Would love to see our shotmaking match our shot quality in the 2nd half and blow them out. We can easily do it.

Fisher continues to play well. Bokunewicz and Swayze 4-13 from 3, which is an improvement. 6 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists already for Jackson. Austin struggling for the second game in a row and Gooden picked up two quick fouls and has sat for a lot of the half.

Rice starts the half on a 15-2 run. Up 51-29. Like I said, first half shot quality for us said possible blowout.

Jackson hurt. Looked like a facial injury, but they didn't show a replay. No tech called after replay so couldn't have been that bad.

Jackson back in the game, so she's all good. 60-34 Rice, 2:19 3Q.

68-40 Rice, end of 3Q. Outscored them 32-13 in the quarter, even with the offense getting a bit stagnant when Jackson went out for a few minutes. Hopefully we can get McCurry some more minutes in the 4th.

78-40 Rice. Here's the thing about Austin. She is so confident in her own game, that even when she's struggling, it's only a matter of time before she breaks out. Plays no differently when she's 1-8 than when she's 7-8.

Domination. And that's with an average first half and Jackson and Fisher not playing for much of the 4th quarter (much deserved rest for both). 83-46 Rice.

RE: WBB vs. UTSA
86-48 Rice. Final. Edmonds is eventually going to piss off another team's coach because she still runs offense when the game is over and the there's little difference between shot and game clock. I don't give a crap, but old school heads will object to it.

Outscored them 50-21 in the 2nd half. 15-27 shooting, 9-15 from 3. From when UTSA closed it to 2 points (24-22 in the 2nd quarter), we outscored them 62-26. 13 points, 7 rebounds for Fisher. 26 points, 10 rebounds for Bokunewicz. Like Austin, she's supremely confident even when struggling, which is necessary for a shooter trying to regain their touch (and she did...9-14, 7-12 from 3). 9 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists for Jackson (and 0 turnovers!). 21 points for Austin. Looked much better in the 2nd half. Swayze the lone slight negative. Was just 3-13 on a bunch of really good looks. On the bright side, she once again made a few good defensive plays. If she's not making shots, we at least need sound defense from her. But we can also be more lethal when she is making shots. She gets hot in Frisco and we become a semi-legit darkhorse contender.

Really like the more intensive play on both ends of the court that Edmonds has them playing. Things have really jelled over the lat quarter of the season.

RE: WBB vs. UTSA
Really impressive final third of the season, winning 7 of our last 8 games, with the one loss being an 2 OT road loss at LaTech.

Important to see Maya finally found her touch following her struggles the past 4 - 5 games. As for Haylee, I've pretty much given up on her getting hot as her one "hot" shooting game all season was her season debut. She's been struggling ever since. Also nice to see turnovers kept to a relatively low level the past couple games.
