Possible, but not likely. The AAC will continue to backfill with urban located schools.

You do realize that for this to happen however Memphis and SMU (and/or USF) are no longer in the AAC and you're back with FIU?

LOL, what a nice response. Thank you for your kind words, We will be just fine in the belt. We will be happy playing local rivalries that we have wanted for years. With our OOC this year we play every FBS team in VA. Also on the road against ECU.

Would I have preferred joining the AAC, sure, but not the way things turned out. I think a lot of us ODU fans would have preferred the AAC, but are certainly happy with our new home.

I doubt this happens. It's pretty clear the AAC values markets and Bowling Green KY won't make the cut. MT has a better chance since they are ~32 miles closer to Nashville than WKU is.

WKU, LT and MT would be fine additions to the AAC, but it wont happen until SMU, Tulsa, Memphis and probably Navy leave. They'll backfill with 2 schools (and those two would be good choices) and stand pat. Thats my prediction. Though its possible at that point ECU might give up on the AAC and move to the Sun Belt, at which point LT, Liberty or FIU to the AAC might be a good move too. But thats a lot of moving pieces. I guess I could see the following happen in a new round of moving, but the AAC has enough members where they can absorb losing at least Memphis and SMU without adding.

Memphis, SMU, Tulsa: P5 or MW
Navy: Independent
Temple: MAC or Indy football/A10
ECU: Sun Belt
FIU/LT/WKU/MT: AAC

Well let’s ask WKU they’re a basketball school that was in the Sun Belt for a longtime. 13 NCAA appearances including 2 sweet 16 runs in 32 years.

Not like the AAC has been some catapult for USF basketball and they actually have nice facilities. FAU’s gym would fit in our practice facility.
