Only players worth keeping around next year are King, Yasser, and Charles the rest can go.

Jaden and Charlie also. But we need to get the transfers in to make a competitive team next year. We cannot tolerate another year like this one. Forbes inherited a mess when he showed up and did not complain about it. He got the transfers and moved on. Time for us to do that now.

Forbes did not inherit a mess. He was left AJ Merriweather, Desonta Bradford, Isaac Banks, Lester Wilson, and more
Bartow was not fired because the program was not a mess. It was. No player over 6 foot 3 inches. Forbes never complained. Went out and got the transfers ans start the progra
m winning.

You are wrong as usual. Feel free to check out the roster: https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/sch.../2017.html
Forbes inherited 7 foot Peter Jurkin, 6'9 Hanner Perea, 6'7 Isaac Banks, future socon player of the year Desonta Bradford, AJ Merriweather. Those guys would mop the floor with the players Coach Oliver was left with

Wrong. Forbes was hired in 2015. He inherited Banks, Merriweather and Bradford. He brought in the rest. Banks played like he was 6 7 but he definitely was not.

Well every team that Banks has played for has listed him as 6'7 but I guess you know better chief.

Also if Forbes recruited Jurkin and was hired in March of 2015 How was Jurkin recruited to ETSU in Aug of 2014? Damn that is cool trick for Forbes

While this year hasn't been what we are accustomed to as ETSU basketball fans.. I am very confident in Oliver's dedication to the program and the quality of players he and his staff are bringing in.

Hats off to the seniors this year who gave their all through the turmoil of losing teammates to injuries and higher responsibilities in life. I feel for them. They did not experience the ETSU basketball program we are used to seeing.

Heck, who knows, maybe LA Brewer decides to come back and play with an actual frontcourt.

King, Yasser, Seymour, a front court transfer, plus the promising incoming freshmen class (Gregory, Strothers, Illic)

However it shakes out, I think we have a solid core who can compete for a championship in 2023 (holy crap 2023, where did the time go?)

I'm excited for next year!

(to the posters who make this forum toxic, we've lost many good posters because of your all's child antics. just shut up, this forum is not your actual life, maybe go outside?)

Yes it is time to get the new players in here and start to mold them with the returning players and make a championship program once again. I think that is what all Buc fans want now. I think Coach Oliver can do it next year and we will look much better. I'm excited for next year! I am particularly interested in seeing who the bigs are we are getting. Also let us not forget that David is graduating and we will need an able to play point guard next year to go with Jordan.

Aside from all the talk about coaches and players, they come and go as ETSU is painfully caught in this ——- THE PROUD PROGRAM REMAINS ALONG WITH THE INSTITUTION BUT IS TRENDING DOWNWARD. Either get a handle on this and TURN IT AROUND, or we could be headed into a Western Carolina University type basketball swamp for a number of years to come. Next season will be the pivotal season for modern era ETSU basketball. GO BUCS!

RE: Official SoCon Tournament Thread: ETSU games
It's not as easy as some of you make it out to be. "Just go in the portal and get the players we need for a championship team next season". Gentleman, legitimate bigs, long shooting guards, strech 4s are the number one targets in recruiting. ETSU and the SoCon are nowhere near the upper level of choice for top 2 star or better talent.

ETSU has done nothing, unfortunately, in the past two years except have turmoil and a poor basketball reputation. The SoCon, as a conference, is trending down. The tv games have shown abysmal attendance
at stadiums and arenas. The conference is currently 11 in basketball power ranking but will probably fall to 13 with the MVC and SunBelt strengthening their conferences.

Coach Oliver and his staff have to somehow convince parents, the players and their coaches that ETSU and Johnson City, is the place for them to continue their education and their basketball career and this dumpster fire that has been front and center for two years is in the rear view mirror. You can bet your last dollar that every other recruiter will put the past events on the table to create doubts about ETSU.

I know President Nolan, Dr Sander, Scott Carter, current team members, and our Coaching staff will do everything they can to right the ship. Rome wasn't built in a day.

If Nunez and Farrah could play after Sloan and Yasser fouled out yesterday, why haven’t they been playing in previous games? And I know Nunez has played in a few games but I’m referring to being “in the rotation”.

They always "could" have played,Oliver just didn't think they could contribute. Yesterday they"had" to play because 3 people fouled out.

RE: Official SoCon Tournament Thread: ETSU games
Oliver obviously has a big task. First is to keep Seymour, Yasser, King, & Strothers. King and Seymour seems less like to transfer because they have used their one free transfer without sitting out. Yasser's post on twitter today seemed to be an optimistic sign that he would return. It's pretty clear to me that most of the rest of the existing team will either leave or not be large contributors to next season's team.

Second task is to get the incoming players that we need, and I am also optimistic on our ability to do so because we have the one thing that most players are attracted to: potential playing time.

Aside from the players, Oliver then needs for things to go his way next season. Some of that will be lucky bounces, players to stay healthy, as well as what will hopefully be better coaching.

I think Seymour can be a good role player. He does need to gain some weight this off-season. As owner of Jersey Mike's in town, I'm gonna try to feed the team, and put extra meat on his subs without him asking. Lol
Still can't figure out what Sloan was doing when he fouled out?
Meant Jaden Seympur not Charles.

Purdue3- Would you give your thoughts to the board on why the reshirt freshman and the transfer should be run off. Have you been going to the practices and verified they are not capable of earning playing time. Maybe you got some 'inside' info. Please inform the rest of us.
