Kent State vs. Buffalo
The Golden Flashes look to lock up the #2 seed in next week's Mid American Conference Tournament when they host the Bulls this Friday at 6PM. For those unable to attend, the game can be seen by tuning into ESPNU, a member of the ESPN family of networks.

I hope to offer an "in depth" look at the matchup ahead of Friday's game, but for now the excitement of making this post is too much to resist. Should you have any questions regarding tie breakers, Danny will be here to answer them. If you are looking to place wagers, see burden and if you want to post memories of past KSU vs. UB clashes...do so. I can't help but think of Dave Carducci talking about Buffalo's tired legs in the 2013 Quarterfinals. Good stuff.

Toledo is not going to lose, so we need to simply focus on handling our own business. I have never been a believer in a loss helping someone, but if that were to happen, would we be hungrier next week? Hard to say. I do believe we are the best team in the MAC but the fire has to be there. We cannot expect to just go through the motions and win 3 games. Stay focused, play hard and good things will happen in the next week.

My guess is UB will try to bottle up Sincere (as will everyone in the MAC tournament), Segu played him tough at their place. In my thinking we're going to need strong games by Gio and Garcia (who BTW looked good against NIU).

A battle so far. Finish at the rim and keep up the defense!

Yes so much for a nice, quiet, stress-free evening. May I suggest a calming circle?

Bad news is Toledos up by 38. Looks like #2 seed. I’ll take it.

Toledo won by a whopping 40 points. Looks like they were pretty serious about finishing first.

RE: Kent State vs. Buffalo
So if OU loses what does the seeding look like? Looks like UB would be pushed out of the three way tie as they have the worst head to head record. If my quick count was right OU and UA are both 2-1 between those three and they split their head to head, so what's the next tie breaker? If it's overall record then it goes to OU.

We missed 4 of 5 to end game. Very frustrating.
Last few games our FT shooting awful
Early in season we were among national leaders ??

RE: Kent State vs. Buffalo
We made a lot of mistakes down the stretch tonight. Some turnovers, a ton of second chance points given up. Leaving a ton of points at the line and around the rim. A lot of things that usually spell defeat. You can get away with mistakes when you play defense like we do though. Still need to clean some of that up though.

Also, if Jacobs doesn't win defensive player of the year that award officially means nothing to me. I don't think I've seen a guard that defends better and harder than him. Tonight he had 5 steals and 2 blocks in the first half. Both blocks we recovered. That's 7 possessions he personally ended in one half. Plus he's our leading rebounder as a 6'4" guard. He's every bit as important to this team as Carry, IMO.

Jacobs was intense. I was hoping Carry would have another huge game, but I guess he's human. We'll see how we fair with the 3 games/3 days. Looks like we run a gauntlet after Thursday.

I know I'll get stones thrown my way, but I feel like this would have been a good night for a hype guy. It almost seems like we could use a mic guy more than a hype guy. Whoever started the Let's Go Kent cheer late in the game was spot on. The crowd just needs a push.

I actually like our position. Could OU get hot and win the tournament? Absolutely. But they're limping into Cleveland on a three game losing streak and having lost 4 of 5. Akron and Buffalo are both playing better than OU right now.
