RE: How many conference games does JMU win?
I had picked 4-4. I figured JMU would lose to Marshall, App State and Coastal and drop another one somewhere along the season. Honestly I didn't think my prediction was a knock on JMU but a nod to how tough the East was going to be. I did think you all would have some key injuries along the way, which you did.

Like most fanbases though most of them are great fans.

I'm not overlooking the fact you only predicted 3 wins and are now trying to steer the discussion to what we do 5 years from now and calling us whiners. I guess its better than your typical excuse filled posts.

Only some of you, but congrats on joining that group. This is the victim card. I was one of the first to congratulate JMU after the win, but sure your narrative works if no one paid attention.

In this instance... please let us be like App. 04-cheers

I realistically think the path is in front of JMU to be like App. We're in a nice spot with recruiting around VA, MD, PA, NC, SC. We also have a nice benefit of every other FBS school in VA being pretty awful right now. Should only help JMU in the next few years.

What happens with the HC position is probably the biggest X factor. If Cignetti sticks around then I'd expect us to be more App than GS, especially since his biggest strengths imo are recruiting and development. The more time he gets recruiting as a strong G5 instead of a strong FCS then the better we should be.

If he leaves then there's always the chance of a swing and a miss on the next hire whenever that is. There's also the chance of a mass exodus to the portal leaving the next guy needing a couple years to hit his potential even if he is a good hire.

I'm not whining, I'm gloating on JMU's success and playing the king card, just for you.

LOL at your memory. After not posting during the game, your first post after the game was bumping the kick catch interference so please help me understand how that was one of the first congratulations?

Right after that you started acting like a child (here, here, here, here, and here).

Finally, after 8 of your fellow fans offered their congratulations (shoutout UrNotPower5, HappyAppy,VNova, TheOrginalBigApp, TheAppalachianSt, AH59396, Goronic), you changed your tone for a couple posts. But lets be clear here, since the App St fans that went negative following the game were basically just ericsaid, meathead, and you; you don't also get to claim being a saint.

Unfortunately, you then felt the need to reiterate the same excuse over and over and over and over and over again.

And if excuses weren't enough, you went back to being a child, to whining about when teams take the field, to being a huge hypocrite.

I'm paying attention, are you?

I didn’t post during the game as I was in attendance…. Then I was ONE of the first to congratulate you guys, not THE first though. Shame on me!

Do the math in a 6 point game.

It remains a big momentum swing play and a terrible call, which wasn’t reviewed this game, but was in a JMU game later in the season (if you’re paying attention).

Rehashing this isn’t going to change either of our opinions of the impact of that play.

Congrats on the season, enjoy it or spend time going through my rep and removing when you’ve given it…. Either way.

The Duke Dog does look like a rat, don’t be so sensitive.

Haha how many times you going to pivot? I said you were full of excuses and you bring up being one of the first to congratulate. I point out you were posting excuses after the game while others were actually congratulating JMU and you bring up attending the game. I don't give a fudge if you were at the game or crawling around in your crib looking for a pacy. If 11 posters were congratulatory and you were #8, you weren't "one of the first." Maybe refer to your safety school and basic education posts I linked earlier. The best part of this is that even if you were #1, it is completely irrelevant to my initial, and later clearly proven, statement that you are full of excuses!

Ha who isn't paying attention?!? They didn't review the interference, they reviewed if Louisville ever touched the ball. It's almost sad how easy it is to disprove your lies. "After further review, the receiving team did touch the ball. The kicking team recovered the ball. The ball will belong to James Madison." The review wasn't for the flag you clown.

Rehashing then conceding there is no point to rehash. That might be the single factual statement you've made!

I don't give a rats a$$ about your internet points or what the Duke Dog looks like. Calling out sensitivity after whining that some football players run out of the locker room during your precious little lullabye? Ha go shine your big red shoes.

Oh clearly care too much, you’re on tilt.

Sorry I wasn’t posting during the game I was attending, I can tell you missed my commentary.

Also sorry you had a bad day at work or whatever it is you’re upset about, it can’t be over message board posts. Yikes.

I agree with this. The Sun Belt is rising indeed!

I know this is off topic but the game between James Madison and the Eagles in Hattiesburg January 21st should be fun. I hope we stack up well against a very good JMU team. If we continue winning the atmosphere should be great..

I'm looking forward to that one too, both seem to have good teams this year although the Valpo loss was very disappointing. With the start you guys have gotten off to I went and checked the schedule last week hoping we had you guys at home!

How many conference games does JMU win?
(11-29-2022 09:36 AM)TealNation Wrote:  Hey, talk your stuff. You've made a good entrance. JMU exceeded expectations while the majority of the division took a pretty obvious step back.

Coastal being 3rd in the nation for least returning production proved evident throughout the year. The majority of games were not pretty. The blowout last week was dissapointing but shouldn't have been surprising to anyone who has followed the season.

App State clearly has significant issues they need to work out.

Old Dominion beat Coastal and took the rest of the season off.

Marshall couldn't figure it out on offense.

Georgia Southern actually improved and looks to be heading in the right direction. Questionable defense.

Georgia State far to sporadic and inconsistent to ever gain any real momentum.

JMU was by far the most consistent and well rounded of the bunch.

Cry more.
Maybe on the bookface.

Strap up and play. That’s it.

47-7.

And if your loser coach decided to coach a team to lose, then fire him/her/xe yesterday.

No room for that nonsense in this great new conference.

RE: How many conference games does JMU win?
This may be the strangest thread to talk smack on I can think of. There are a few posters that have been anti-JMU since we got here and a few more that stirred up stuff on our own board for years before we got the invite.

Guess what- those posters are not revisiting this thread.

The people who are left on the thread are the ones who gave honest answers based on their past experiences. If the last time I truly followed FCS was a decade ago, and I saw teams competing for championships having 250lb fill-in OLs, I might be concerned about depth, too.

Heck, I knew we had FBS depth. I can honestly say the the most surprising thing to me was how far from ready Atkins was, and I still underestimated our win total.

All those precious rep points you care so much about and yet you provide so little. Those few hours you were out watching App St feet dragged for 53 minutes the most intellectually honest period for that thread.

Continuing to just make stuff up as you go instead of just recognizing you were wrong about the review, about your behavior after the game, about your excuses, and about how JMU would do this year. Save face, act like an adult, accept your shortcomings, and stop acting like a child.

RE: How many conference games does JMU win?
Offered congrats on the game and season, happy to have JMU in the conference. App was your largest proponent. I supported bringing JMU in back when we joined, go back and read my posts from the JMU board. Hopefully you weren’t one of those that thought you were going straight to the 1.0 version of the AAC from the FCS. JMU is as close to a carbon copy of App as you can get, nothing but respect for the school.

But yeah I’m villain you so wish me to be.

The call in question objectively was a bad call. This appears to be the source of your distain and has troubled for you for two months now. Stop giving it oxygen if it upsets you so much.

App has been on the good and bad end of bad calls. It’s ok, refs get things wrong and that’s part of the game.

Continue attacking me if that’s what you enjoy doing, hopefully you’re able to move on soon.

You eventually offered congrats on the game, and later our ranking, and were congratulating other teams in other games/situations. A criminal doesn't walk free just because they helped an old lady cross the street on the way to court, but whatever. I'm saying I don't hate you. I don't think of you as a villain. In the moment 2 months ago, I thought of you as someone who just watched their team given up a lead (in person!), and as we all do at sometimes, acted as such.

The only thing I remembered from 2 months ago you went with the JMU fans "cry victim" topic change in this thread was about how sensitive you were to JMU leaving the locker room while music was being played (I still LOL about that take). I took that as an opportunity to call out how opposing fans, not just or even necessarily you, have tried to change the narrative from what they said preseason to discount JMU's success. It was as simple as that. It was one line.

Then you responded with misleading statements ("one of the first" in that it was in the later half and it was after a bunch of excuses) and blatantly false statements (what calls were reviewed), amongst the trash talking that is too be expected on an anonymous sports message board. The trash talk doesn't bother me, I'm just keeping the dialogue factual. If you feel like me pointing out your misrepresentations and lies is attacking you, so be it.

If you are going to throw some digs out there, please expect them to be returned. If you think its a personal attack, thats unfortunate. I have the mentality that I'll call you a cry baby to your face while sharing my cooler of beer with you next fall in H'burg. Sorry if you took that as me being on tilt or took it personally or whatever else. It wasn't meant to be anything more than some sports message board sh!t talking banter.

Hey, I wonder what is going through FBS Dave’s tiny mind. Did he migrate to the Delaware or EKU board? Lol

Quite of few of us gave JMU a shooting chance to perform above expectations early in this thread.

There's a good reason for it and it had nothing to do with JMU's inflated roster or history. Why all the chest thumping?

If the the purpose is to get into the head of the competition check with one of your conference mates. You'll find what undefeated feels like.

Forgot about that guy. He's probably on the NDSU boards trying to convince them to go FBS Independent until the MWC comes calling.
