This article is an eye-opener to D-I athletics.

I'm surprised Heath didn't express a greater interest in keeping him. Jerry mentioned grades. His shooting percentages were sub-par.

And one of the dirty secrets of college (and pro?) sports is that new coaches are partial to THEIR recruits.

Someone will probably get a solid D-I player who will have a bachelor's degree in something but an associate's degree in the school of hard (collegiate sports) knocks.

Maybe JUCO was an opportunity to re-invigorate his basketball future.

Drew hasn't gotten the nice, easy collegiate athletic experience all expect when they sign on with a college.

OK this what I know. Initially Drew and Tre Louder were flabbergasted by the fact that Stan did not want Drew back and trashed him. Two weeks later, Dad professed his respect for Heath and agreed with his decision. He admitted that he found out that Drew was not attending his remote academic classes and would likely be ineligible to play at EMU this season. Unfortunate to say the least.

Jerry has a personal connection to the family so Jerry knows more than us. From my humble opinion, I did not see a lot from him when he played at EMU. Noah is also a scoring Pg and a much better talent. If Louder would have been eligible I’m sure Coach Heath would have loved for him to come off the bench.

I believe better guards than Lauder will enroll at EMU before next September.
