Hey All!

It looks like the CAA has updated the bracket the only seeds left is the 1 vs 2 Seed. Delaware resumes their game vs Towson Monday 38-29 with 18:42 in Second half. Do we want UNCW or Towson. Yes.. I know Delaware is our next game but it is something fun to talk about for a day.

Additionally if Delaware loses do we become the 4 seed? As we would both be 10-8.

Drexel would have the tiebreaker over Delaware for beating Towson if the teams end up tied. Nothing against UNCW, but Towson and Hofstra still appear to be the most dangerous in the conference. I'd rather see Delaware win tomorrow, and have Towson fall to 2nd. I still don't like Drexel's chances in this tournament.

agreed. i'd rather talk about how something good can happen.

we're in that familiar boat of "if x, y, or z happens...maybe we can make a run". not the boat you want to be in...but one we're accustomed to. we have 4 or 5 guys who can go for 20+ points in a game. there's no evidence any of them will do that for 3 straight games.

i do have some hope for 2 reasons...

1. we are the defending champions. that means something. we put it all together in a tournament setting the last time out.
2. i'm holding out hope that spiker has a plan. metsox mentioned on our podcast today that he felt like spiker was tinkering yesterday. i feel like he's been tinkering all season. unfortunately i think that's because he has no idea who is going to show up from one night to the next and is just hoping he hits on something. it felt like he threw house out there yesterday because he was out of options.

maybe he has an idea in his head of who his best 7-8 guys are and is going to ride them next week. this is probably going out on a limb. i'd rather go out that way though than just bury us before we even get down there.

My constant anger about this team is that Washington starts. Butler if healthy should be right next to Williams. We don't have a roster for 4 guards.

Anyone know the situation with Okros this year? Is he injured? Last year, he was a huge weapon in their championship run. This year, he's been in the lineup sparingly, and has been out the last four games.

We should be cheering for Delaware.

Towson absolutely smoked Delaware in the resumption of the 2nd Half tonight.

This should morale wise hurt Delaware.

Towson has demoralized a lot of teams lately, especially after what they did to the former guys in their last ever game. This team is peaking at the right time.

I know that we wanted Delaware to win because we think that UNCW gives us a better path to the championship game. However, we still have to beat both teams to win a championship, so I'm not going to be too upset.

In the end, Drexel finishes as a higher seed than Delaware. They have their best CAA Tournament seeding since finishing 4th in 13-14, and have their first winning season in the CAA since the 11-12 season when they went 16-2. All good things.

Not even a tad bit surprised at Towson smoking them in the restart. 2 teams goin gin different directions. I agree with Hiroshima that it was not fair how it went down. Towson should have moved venue or played the next night (yes I know the women had a game) or forfeited. Pushing off and only finishing if it mattered didnt seem right then and made a huge impact now. Id be livid if I were a UNCW fan, player or coach.

Best finish, yes. I think 4th was our preseason pick too so at best we met expectations by that metric. 10-8 is nothing to be crazy proud of, when we returned our entire team. I truly dont think losing TJ or Walton ended up making much of a difference. It is progress so we have to tip our hat there. However there was no reason this team wasnt competing for a top seed and title this season. Maybe we catch some consistency in the tournament again, but I have my doubts.

Delaware may not look good right now, but our history in the tournament against them is poor, at best. Hope the team is not looking into that past results and letting any of that get to their head.

Drexel never beat Delaware in the NAC/AE or CAA Tournament. The players don't look at stuff like that like we fans do, and are just focusing in on their opponent next week and what it takes to win.
