Great game by the women, who beat a quality team who had previously lost only 3 games at home. Amazing, given they're playing with essentially 6 players (Bellamy played just 6 minutes today as she's obviously still hurting from the injury she suffered at LaTech)...and our two outside shooters (Haylee and Maya) have been mired in horrendous shooting slumps the past couple weeks. This team could be really good, and really fun to watch next year, with a healthy Crosthwait and the 5 newcomers from the highly regarded incoming recruiting class. I believe the only departure will be Bellamy, unless Swayze decides not to come back for her final year of eligibility.

It's my understanding that Swayze has already been admitted to the Jones School and will definitely be back next year...unless there has been a change recently.

Bellamy is a junior. McCurry and Swayze are the only seniors, although both could opt for a 5th year. There is always a chance that some underclass folks could transfer out, although they would be advised to see how it didn’t work out that well for the five who chose not to come to Rice this year (Wiggins doesn’t even start for SMU anymore).

If Austin, Jackson and Fisher return (and the others), Rice could easily be back in the NCAAs next year again.
