RE: Is it over yet??
DW should be on the hot seat next year. I expect 20 wins next year. But he will have to have a stellar recruiting year to do that. I don't think dw adapted to the circumstances he faced ... covid/injuries.

EZ i hope he can get on track. 50-64 and one good season out of four gives me doubts. I hope i am wrong. We need something to get excited about as it has been a while.

Glad to see you are, at least, open to the possibility that Darrell can be successful. I don't know whether he can or not. He has had success in 3 of his 7 college coaching seasons which does give me hope. Whether you accept it as an "excuse" or not, the last 2 seasons have been tough due to Covid and multiple injuries. He has shown the ability to bring in some really good talent. Unfortunately, many of them have not stuck around. What I have seen of this season's new recruits, who have been able to play, has been quite impressive. I think Myron and Jordan will be really good players for us. Hopefully, Walker and Speaker are just as good. Osawe has shown flashes of his talent. I always loved Wimp's straightforward honesty- he basically said the team with the better talent will usually win regardless of who the coach is. I think talent-wise, we will be in good shape in the OVC. I have seen no evidence that Darrell is a bad floor coach. The only issue to me has been his relationship with players- Obviously this is a serious concern, but maybe he can learn from whatever mistakes he has made. Maybe he can start with getting Nikola back on the court, this Thursday, which would, at least, give us a puncher's chance against USA.
So, again, my point is, Darrell is likely to be our coach for, at least, the next year or 2. As a long-time fan, I feel like my only choice is to support him. Others can make their own decision, but I don't believe bad-mouthing our coach serves any useful purpose and can undermine our program.

I agree that he has found some good players but he has to find a way to keep them so we have some consistency and continuity. Maybe then we could at least be competitive.

I know it was only one game, so who knows how much it meant. But the team I saw on the floor against SIU, before some of our injury, defection, and Covid problems really hit, looked like a team that could compete very well in the Sun Belt. I really thought that was the team we would see this season, but things didn't work out that way.
