I count ONE senior, David Sloan who will certainly be missed, EIGHT freshmen, and the rest. But, this is modern college ball — perhaps freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior doesn’t mean anything anymore.

The Brewers would have been Seniors if not for COVID, they could have been super Seniors next year like Sloan was this year but chose not to, that's why they were honored on Senior Night!

So, the Brewers will earn their degrees in May and depart with the rest of the graduating SENIORS? And, you’re saying Sloan delayed his graduation last year and was a second year senior (super-senior) this year? Will Sloan now be earning his degree in May?
According to the announcement on senior night:
Ty Brewer will graduate in May.
Ladarius Brewer has graduated and will receive his graduate certificate in E-Sports management in May.
No mention of the status of Sloan, he did senior night last year. He could be a graduate student this year.

That’s good news for the Brewer brothers - congratulations and the very best to them. And, Sloan - sure hope he leaves with an undergraduate and graduate degree.

I'm glad they're heading out with a degree (or maybe two). That's supposed to be the primary goal; but, sure, I'd like to win some games and get some conference championships along the way, too.
I may have missed somebody, but it sounds like all the players leaving or who have left (Ty, Ledarius, David, Vonnie, and Silas) are all taking the first steps to be productive adults. I think that is something to be celebrated.

That was the original intent of the student-athlete grant in aid. Am glad to see these young men also seeing it as such. Good for them. Going all the way back to the old, old days - schools argued bitterly over even offering aid to their athletes. I believe UVA left the Southern Conference over this argument.
