A few of our most disappointing "stolen from the jaws of victory" have been at Ball State (2018, 2020). They've had our number lately, as has several MAC West opponents it seems.

Every preseason MAC prediction I've seen puts BSU in last place. We really need a W in this one. If not, it'll be a bad omen.

QB Kedon Slovis was a three year starter at So. Cal. and transferred to Pitt. He’s your starter and is quite a bit above average!

While the BAlls game is quite early, there is room to get better or fall apart after. I think the MAC season comes down to those last 3 games. We would probably need to win at least 2 of those.

Yup, the strength of schedule is definitely backloaded this year.

I am going to follow Nacho here and just predict something to give me a laugh at the end of the season..

I think we surprise Pitt again... this time they don't have Pickett and their #1 WR... I also think we are having a good year when we inevitably lay an egg against CMU in dismal flatts.. Come home and take it hard on the chin with a blowout at the hands of Toledo... giving us yet again a feeling of let down at the end of the season... much as Nacho predicted.

I think you’re going to be surprised by the results of our west coast foray and the visit from Pitt. I think both games are a long ways from W’s because of their off season improvements. San Jose is a long trip.

Losing to Eastern 4 years in a row is unacceptable. We need to play that game like it's the Super Bowl. I will be so pissed if we lose that game again.

Can't disagree with that.

Our program should be better than Eastern's. No offense to our Huron friends.

If we lose four times in a row to them (maybe even three) it comes down to coaching.

I had said 8 wins. That seems overly optimistic. Salopek seems behind other QB’s of past 10 years or so. This may be a rebuilding year. Next year s/b much improved. The other West teams that returned a lot of talent this year won’t have that next year. At least one of McElwain / Creighton / Candle / Hammock will be gone. East schedule s/b more favorable.

If I had to guess now, I’d say 6. Still think 8’s possible w/ the Defense & overall MAC parity.
