NU heads south to Florida to face Minnesota on Friday, followed by a DH vs. Marshall Saturday and a game vs. Merrimack Sunday.

NU had a disappointing weekend by going 1-3 to fall to 3-5 on the season.

Friday: NU lost to Minnesota 3-1 in Ft. Myers. Cam Schlittler got the loss to fall to 0-2. He went 6 innings allowing 5 H, 2 ER, 1 BB, 4 K. Despite the loss he still has a 2.70 ERA.

Saturday: NU got swept a doubleheader by Marshall in Port Charlotte. Game 1, Sebastian Keene got the loss (0-1) only pitching 4 innings (5 H, 3 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 5 K) in the 13-3 loss. Freshman Mark Darakgy hit his 2nd homer.
Game 2 NU lost 3-2 in 10 innings.
Eric Yost got a ND pitching just 3 innings allowing 7 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, 0 K. Reliever Jordy Allard was excellent, going 4 innings allowing just 2 H and 3 K. NU tied the game in the 8th on back-to-back doubles by Mike Sirota and Harvard transfer Buddy Mrowka. Dennis Colleran (2.1 IP, 2 H, 1 ER, 4 BB, 2 K) came in relief but in the 10th his wild pitch with the bases loaded scored the game winning run.

Sunday: NU beat local foe Merrimack 11-1. Wyatt Scotti got the win (2-0) going 6.1 innings (4 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 8 K) for his 2nd straight solid start. LF Corey DiLoretto went 3-4 and Kansas State transfer Luke Beckstein hit a grand-slam in the 6th to put NU up 11-1. He had 5 RBI in this one.

NU is back on the field this weekend as they head to Raleigh, NC to take on 9th ranked NC State in a 3-game series.
