Our problem is that a lot of these better schools won't play us, is that we are a very good program. I'm sure MOB hasn't been sitting on his butt and not trying to get better teams to come to the glass bowl and play us. This new AD will only be here a few years to update his resume. if he is here more then 3 yrs, I will be surprised.

Bryan Blair, I think will be at Toledo at least 5 + years !!
He already realizes this is one of the best MAC jobs with probably the highest ceiling... Granted it will not be as long of a tenure as MOB, but I believe BB will make his mark while here, in a positive way !!

No one has mentioned UC to come to the glass bowl when they don't play in Oxford that year. I don't think the Bearcats would play a MAC school twice in the same football season.

The biggest problem UT has is the size of their visitor locker room is too small to support the needs of the P5 schools

When Missouri was here they pitched a tent out side for good ness sake

Not a lot of good solutions either unless you want to dig a tunnel to the HEC, which actually might be the most economical way to do it

I thought the visitors locker rooms was expanded during the last upgrade to the Glassbowl

Sniff is correct on the visitors locker room. It was "expanded" but the footprint was not there to add a lot of space. The P5 schools need more room than we can provide. UT has been in enough P5 visitors locker rooms to know what is needed. That might be one of the initial needs for the GB for BB to tackle. There is room to go out towards lot 10 but that wall is pretty thick and Im guessing would take something special to breech.

Seems like an expansion of the Larimer Complex east to the Rocket area could accommodate a larger visitors' locker room. The missile could be relocated to the top of the addition(the Launch Pad) actually improving its' visibility during games.

RE: Season tickets
These parking horror stories have me hesitant. Could this possibly be contributing to the low men's b-ball attendance? Personally for a school the size of Toledo I think it azzinine to have to pay extra for parking to attend a paid on-campus evening or weekend event. There shold be free parking SOMEWHERE on campus with not risk of ticket. Is there?

not sure, but last MBB game I attended a few weeks ago, the lots around and around Savage were packed full-so I don' think that's the issue.

Plus "General Admission (GA) parking comes with your ticket package and/or any single game ticket purchases" (from UT Athletics website), lot 1 or 2, often overflow into lot 10 (next to GB)

Groups holding public events can purchase "parking access" from the private company now owning and operating parking on campus-you are essentially paying the company not to enforce parking permits in certain lots for a given time of your event-guessing UT Athletics has this in place.

I thought so and not so bad as I thought but when I picked up my fan-plan tickets (football) last year, there were no parking passes. I was worried TBH. I'd rather deal with a divorce attorney than the parking oligarchy.

Parking is not an issue at all for basketball. Free parking. Plenty of parking by the rec center, that lot is never anywhere near full.

Not sure how they will handle parking for 2022 football games but pretty sure same company ran parking during 2021 season and they collected parking fees from cars coming onto campus for game, several lots were available for game day parking, and yes season tickets and fan-plan come with parking passes but as mentioned you can pay for parking on game day

You no longer pay for parking for FB. Has been that way for for a few years. The people you saw were the people checking parking passes at Lot 10, Lot 9, etc. that require parking passes to park there. Fan plans and 'regular' tickets were not given ay parking passes whatsoever.

Parking in certain lots have been free for football and basketball. People just have to walk a few extra steps.
We really do have a good situation here, at least on game day !!

WHAT!!!!! I've been walking all the way from Engineering, RISKING my life crossing Douglas/Westwood/whatever and I could have parked at the rec center? You know how many tickets I've gotten parking at the rec center?... neither do I but I'm sure it's plenty.

pretty sure with a basketball game ticket, parking has been free in lot 1 and lot 10 for last few years and currently is same

"pretty sure" is what the parking Nazi's count on. They want our money.....

I'll have to check to be absolutely sure. I don't actually mind walking from Engineering, particularly for football but a little closer wouldn't hurt either. Might be nice for them to include that information in the package when we pick up my tickets, presuming I'd actually read it, lol.

As for the 2022 Football home season, probably the least attractive I recall. Can't think of a worse OOC from a competition or interest POV. Eh, some year has to be worst.

to be clear (as per parking information providing on UT Athletics website) purchase of a game ticket includes free parking (lot 1 etc...)

"General Admission (GA) parking comes with your ticket package and/or any single game ticket purchases. GA parking does NOT need a parking pass. The GA Parking Areas are Areas 1 & 2, immediately right off of Bancroft Street at the North entrance into campus. Please remember all parking is based on availability; if a parking area is full you will be directed to the next available parking area."

Thanks. I feel there's something obvious just not dawning on me, lol

So if there is no parking pass to put on my dash, they don't know if my car is there for the game, classes, or just to roam around. GA parking does not "come with the ticket." It's just free, for anyone that would want to park there, even on a mid-week game night?

Someone in the thread mentioned I could park at the Rec Center. That appears to be for handicap only. But I'm still good over at Engineering, that's what matters to me.

Yep, but let's remember we are talking about a small number of mid week evenings (or even Saturdays) over a 365 days year enforecement that parking permits or tickets are not generating revenue for the company- plus UT Athletics is paying Park Toledo (company that runs the UT parking system now) - so that company is still getting that revenue

You are even better parking in lot 1-across walking bridge from Savage or short walk to Glass Bowl
