We actually had a chance to tie it, but Pierre missed the 3 with 3 seconds left.

Pierre gets a good look to tie the game but misses it badly. Should be game over.

MBB at FIU
Glad to see we fought tough and almost completed the comeback.

FIU is obviously not a great team but they have been extremely tough to beat at home this year.

After the Olivari injury I had moved this one to my “can we win a game we shouldn’t” category.

Let’s keep regrouping (today was a step forward) and see if our new lineup can gel more by March

Rice is down to #210 in Pomeroy.

EVERY team has injuries. That is a garbage excuse.

A bit sad that you can make a legitimate case that the women will be better than the men next year.

Considering that the women have been better than the men for most of the last seven years, I don't see what is so sad about that.

1st year coach who lost her 4 most impactful players (including one of the best defensive players in the country) versus a 5th (?) year HC with a strong returning roster. Disappointing that the latter isn't expected to be stronger than the former.

Stop with the B.S. and endless negativism for every sport outside of T&F. Every team does not have injuries, and certainly not to one of their best players. And Rice doesn't have the quality depth that elite basketball programs such as Duke, MSU and even UH to weather such injuries.

No question. If the new recruits pan out as expected, WBB will be quite good next year. Even with the loss of Evee, Mullins and Pierre the MBB can still be good, provided Olivari returns fully healthy, and no one transfers out, but if we don't incorporate some defensive discipline it will all be for naught.

Not sure that Evee will be done with his degree in time to be able to transfer out.

Remember, this is only his second year at Rice.

One year post grad at Vermont Academy.
One year at VMI.
Second year at Rice.

Of course, he could transfer without his degree-but I somewhat doubt that given his family’s background in education.
