It's important to understand that the left can make several arguments as to why his behavior should be accepted. I'm not saying the arguments are valid.
For example, we are a society that accepts all cultures. In some cultures age of consent for minors can be 12 or even 9. Who's to say American culture is right?
Also, this is his sexual preference. No one should be discriminated against due to their sexual preference. People should be free to love who they want. We should encourage them to live and love how they see fit.
And don't forget the
Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM–5) published by the American Psychiatric Association. All that has to be done is to remove pedophilia from this book and it is considered a normal behavior.
This was the strategy taken by the homosexual community. They finally convinced/pressured the APA to remove homosexuality from the DSM in 1973. Prior to that it had been considered and then it was considered normal overnight. This was shortly after the SCOTUS removed prayer and the Bible from public schools and the same year SCOTUS ruled in favor of abortion as a right.
There have been psychologists arguing that pedophilia should not be considered a mental disorder. It will continue to gain traction.
We've been discussing this for several years in this forum. People like to point out that homosexuality is legal but pedophilia is illegal and argue that it would never be accepted because of it being illegal.
They don't understand that homosexuality was illegal in the U.S. as well. After it was removed from the DSM, the activists pushed for its legalization.
They attacked anti-sodomy laws across the nation. The last remaining anti-sodomy laws were struck down in Texas in
2003.
Quote:Lawrence v. Texas, 539 U.S. 558 (2003), was a landmark decision of the U.S. Supreme Court in which the Court ruled that sanctions of criminal punishment for those who commit sodomy are unconstitutional.[1][2] The Court reaffirmed the concept of a "right to privacy" that earlier cases, such as Roe v. Wade, had found the U.S. Constitution provides, even though it is not explicitly enumerated.[3] The Court based its ruling on the notions of personal autonomy to define one's own relationships and of American traditions of non-interference with private sexual decisions between consenting adults.[4]
After homosexuality was removed from the DSM in 1973 homosexual behavior was finally legalized just 30 years later.
Just wait... groups such as NAMBLA are working overtime to follow the same path.
