RE: 2022 Bengals
Saw it mentioned on the Bengals board that it doesn't make sense to trade out of the 1st round because they would lose the 5th year option.

depends on the return

i also like the thought of drafting a wr in the third possibly for continuity's sake; use the savings to attract a difference maker on d; which is the new formula for championships

Yeah that's part of the appeal for the trading team consistent with bearcatmark's earlier post. And it should get factored into the return compensation as lush notes.

The 5th year option can be applied to any first-rounder (the Bengals have to decide very soon if they are going to exercise it on Jonah Williams - which they should and will imo.) But its especially appealing for teams drafting a QB as salaries for that position, in particular, have skyrocketed.

RE: 2022 Bengals
LOVE the Daxton Hill pick. Got value (was projected to go higher). He's versatile and can play all 3 DB spots. He's fast. Going to need speed to chase guys like Jackson, Watson, Mahomes. Can help right away. And it could possibly free up some future cash to extend Burrow (or whomever) by letting Bates walk and not having to pay him outrageous money.

I noted at like pick 25 to my friends hope we get one of Devonte Wyatt (Georgia DT), Devin Lloyd (Utah LB), or Daxton Hill (Michigan S).

I love the versatility Daxton Hill brings to us even if he doesn't have a sure fire position in year 1. He has great potential and think he will make some big time plays in his first year.

Yeah a lot of guys I would've been very interested in went just a few picks before 31 including Karlaftis at 30. But Hill was the one gem that slipped. I'm very pleased we got him for the reasons you guys mentioned.

Idk about another safety but the experts liked it. I like the Florida DE/DT size and athleticism and pick.

I'm more the opposite. I see Hill as a S who could play CB, but CTB is more of a CB who could play S. They both run like the wind and I really like the versatility they bring. I like CTB but I'm not necessarily convinced he was worth trading up for even if it was "only" a 6th rounder.

I'll have to dig more into Carter but my initial take is I'd have preferred Myjai for example if they were going DL late in R3. I do like Carter's versatility and I'm sensing that's the Bengals theme of the first 2 days.

RE: 2022 Bengals
Love the first 2 picks by the Bengals. Shored up an area of need with some guys with SPEED. Both run a 4.3 forty. Even though they addressed another area of need in the 3rd round, that pick seemed like a reach. On paper Carter seems like a career rotational/backup guy. You should still be able to get starters in round 3. He feels like more of a 4th or 5th round guy.

How do the Bengals receive the payout for the stadium naming rights when they don't even own the stadium? I mean, good God, when with the pillaging end in that sweetheart deal? 03-lmfao

Quote:Paul Brown Stadium is owned by the Hamilton County, so sponsorship profits would go to the county and the city of Cincinnati. The Bengals have notified Hamilton County about the potential deal.

Goodbye PBS, Hello Paycor Stadium.

Quote:the Bengals will receive the first $60.5 million and then 70% of the remaining revenue, with the county receiving the other 30%, per the terms of the lease.
