Fraley's a platoon type at best. Hopefully, the Reds can find enough decent OFs that he doesn't have to play everyday. He might make a decent platoon partner for Aquino.

The deal is really all about Williamson from the Reds end (well actually MONEY and Williamson). He's a really nice pitching prospect, but probably won't be ready to do anything significant in the majors this year. Maybe not next either for that matter.

Unfortunately, I don't think Bob gets what the fans (assuming any are left) mean when they tell him to "sell the team."

Now that the team is being blown up, I would like to point out that we just completed a six year rebuild to reach the peak of a two game wild card sweep in 2020, and a 2021 team that missed the playoffs because they were too cheap to get a starting pitcher and a shortstop.

I've officially moved into casual observer territory.

Who would have thought that the Bengals would be spending money and making better roster moves than the Reds?

There is a reason the reds have the worst results of any MLb franchise since Marge Schott sold the team.

This team won’t even be watchable.

The problem with the Reds is, they are too impatient to rebuild properly, do not have the finances to buy up free agents, too inept to go the money ball route, and the owner likes to throw his two pennies in and blow stuff up.

They have no identity or direction. They half ass try to go all different routes. Then when it ultimately fails, they blame everyone but themselves. What a sad state of a once proud franchise.

Reds get an innings-eater in a change of scenery trade. As one would suspect from his salary, Minor was actually pretty good as recently as 2019 (All-Star and finished 8th in Cy Young voting). Maybe DJ sees something he thinks he can help him correct.

Amir might get it together and become a stellar reliever but it seemed less and less likely he was going to do it here. I'm not counting on much but it's not a bad bet if KC took on most of Minor's contract.

Addendum: It's not clear how much KC is paying, but apparently Minor played at Vandy under D. Johnson and that was a big factor in dealing for him. Strategy seemed to work previously with Sonny although he wasn't great last year.

Read that they're paying $8.5 of his $10 million. That's a real head scratcher of a deal.

Is there an actual plan? Or do they just have a chart of all the available guys on the wall and they are throwing darts at it while blindfolded?
