Nervous pervis got a shoebox full of Benny franklins 03-phew

I also heard that Keith got a new car with a shoe box full of MONEY . This came from an old friend of mine that went to school with him back then . It happened a lot back then , I would imagine . #justsayin .

If it’s not in a shoebox it doesn’t count.

The Tennessee LOLS were using McDonald's bags and it was very recent. Hopefully NIL will do much to end the shenanigans.

ESPN reported a couple of days ago that Spyre Sports is going to raise $25 Million annually to pay UT athletes. I haven't seen any other reports on this other than this article by The Atlantic here: https://theathletic.com/3130173/2022/02/...arms-race/

Hunter Baddour, president and co-founder of Spyre Sports said “the goal is $25 million annually. Or more. And we think that goal is absolutely attainable.” He also said, “We’re prepared to invest a substantial amount of resources into the 2023 recruiting class,” Baddour said. “When you add all that together, it’s well into the seven-figure category.”

(The article is behind a pay wall so it cut me off before I could read more.) Anyone else hear anything about this?

And that is why the ncaa is going to come down on this

Blanket money to players

This was meant to be for individuals, not groups

I think they had to do it. Players don't want to play for free for four years anymore, ultimately hurting the NCAA's product. Factor in the Supreme Court's opinion and it was inevitable. Optimistically, it may also help to eliminate the payment of players under the table which has been going on as an open secret for far too many years.

Will this make it difficult for smaller teams to compete in recruiting? I'm sure it will have some impact, but it's not like that wasn't already the case. NIL isn't a perfect solution, but it's better than nothing and a step towards something that may work better than the system that we had.

True

Yep to get in you had to win your conference. College football doesn't even require that to be in their national invitational tournament they are keeping til 202?

No quad 4 losses. 2 quad 3 losses. They are bad losses, but not killers.

BTW, outside the top 20ish teams, we all have Q3 and/or Q4 losses. Granted, we should be a top 20 team. Just saying we aren't that far off.

They have us on the outside looking in and needing a fantastic late season run to make the tournament. Q3, Q4 or whatever. They were bad losses that put us unnecessarily behind the proverbial eight ball.

Please don't be a "yeah, but" fan when the Tigers make the tourney this year.

I will never understand why people take obvious factual statements as some form attack or negative speak. Why is a bad thing to look at early season losses and state that without them we would basically be a lock instead of where we are now having depending on a fantastic late season rally to make it in?

..."proven to be tournament selection killers" is not an obvious factual statement. The opposite actually, as most gurus have us in the tourney this year despite the bad losses.
