It appears Jermaine Foster WR from Glenville is also on 2023 commit list. He may be a scholarship player. I'm trying to figure this out. Very little info available.

He has a Feb1 tweet saying he committed to UT but he wasn't on our 2023 commitment list. He tweeted to Ricky Ciccone and JC. Not sure if his commitment was accepted or not. He was offered by UT but maybe Willoughby got late preference.

He had offers from the Academies and Ivys. One way or the other, I'm betting he's on scholarship.

Spengler was in England during his elementary years and started playing soccer there. He attributed that to building his skill as a kicker. Was also a scratch golfer after college and was a top golfer at BG. His dad was a high level executive at O-I which got the family moved over to England, and also had responsibility for operations in Venezuela when John Niehous (another executive at O-I) was kidnapped. John was an investment adviser for me before I moved up to Detroit. Gave a recommendation on an IPO that turned out to be the best investment I ever made - by far.

Took a quick look at the bio for the BG HOF to see how many years he lettered in golf (4). That bio says he went to Woodward HS. I wonder if John knew that...lol

One other thing - John once told me that he received the game ball in football only one time while at BG - and it wasn't for making a game winning field goal. It was for making a tackle on a kick-off. He said the guy made a fake and he said he was too slow to react to the fake - so he kept the angle he had and made the tackle.

UT still recruiting offensive linemen apparently, as they have reportedly offered LIU transfer Ted Kushi, who was voted as lineman of the year in the NEC.
