Confirmed and Speculative D1 Realignment Moves for 2022 On
Dallas Baptist will play its baseball in CUSA starting next year (2023 season)
That gives the league 10 for baseball in 2023.

Thanks, that's already been noted in the OP though. Also, it only gives them 9 for baseball in 2023 because UTEP doesn't offer the sport.

For 22-23 it'll still be 10. 11 teams minus UTEP and UNT plus DBU. For 23-24 and on, it's 9. Everyone but UTEP but with DBU .

Ah yes, I was referring to the 2023-24 athletic year, which is actually the 2024 baseball season. But you are both correct that they'll have 10 teams for the 2023 baseball season (the 2022-23 athletic year).
Leaving after 2022-23 (5): Charlotte, FAU, Rice, UAB, UTSA
Continuing members (4): FIU, Louisiana Tech, MTSU, WKU
Joining in 2022-23 (1): Dallas Baptist
Joining in 2023-24 (4): JSU, Liberty, NMSU, SHSU

This is an article from 2019 about UTEP restarting baseball (they stopped in 1985)

Okay, I thought Grand Valley State do have a spot in OVC for football, but are waiting for a home for their other sports. They are right behind Bellarmine as number 2 pick for Horizon League.

OVC Hearings
Quote:As far as the OVC goes, at least in the short term, I would not expect one of those additions to be Grand Valley State.
That is the talk in March that Grand Valley State is one of them in the mixed for OVC membership as well.

Whoever it is, it definitely won't be for this upcoming season. In my opinion, Grand Valley may have moved in front because of the HL/UIC fracas earlier. Bellarmine could've been put off by the situation. The Valley has its eye on Bellarmine, Kansas City, NKU and Milwaukee to name a few. The MVC would suit the Knights moreso than the HL.

This gives the Summit 9 Men's Soccer - 6 Summit teams and 3 OVC teams (Eastern Illinois is already in)
For both Swimming and Diving, it puts it at 8 - 5 OVC and 3 OVC (again, EIU)

Thanks! Updated the OP again.
To be clear, USI men's soccer is going to the Summit in addition to Lindenwood.
Not sure what the MAC's plan is for men's soccer next year. My theory was that they'd take in the OVC schools as affiliates, but evidently not.

This gives the Summit nine men’s soccer members. Maybe Chicago State could stick their program there? (Summit has ten women’s soccer members).

RE: Confirmed and Speculative D1 Realignment Moves for 2022 On
Updated OP once more with latest moves and speculation, the most recent of which is the continuation of the ASUN/WAC football collab. As I understand, it's the ASUN that the football programs actually all belong to for now, as they have to be considered members of one conference or another for sports sponsorship purposes. It's just branded as ASUN/WAC.
Similarly the OVC/Big South collab will presumably be officially under the auspices of the OVC, since it is the only conference of the 4 mentioned above that currently requires football to meet NCAA regs as a multisport conference.
I am speculating that this collab may end up being partially called off if the Big South can pick up 3 FB schools from the MEAC (likely NSU, NCCU, and SCSU). Together with their 3 current full members that sponsor FB, that would give them the magic 6 to remain in business. Meanwhile, Big South affiliates RMU and Bryant would effectively move to the OVC to help ensure that conference has the numbers it needs.

Both the WAC and ASUN sponsor baseball and soccer. They don't need need to sponsor football.

Which is why I said only the OVC needs to sponsor football, and not the WAC, ASUN, or Big South.

They could conceivably form a league comparable to the MVFC - but they likely both hold aspirations for going alone.

RE: Confirmed and Speculative D1 Realignment Moves for 2022 On
The MEAC is seeking affiliation for their four remaining baseball schools.
My guess that if the whole conference does not go away they would affiliate with the NEC. The baseball schools are more northerly - Delaware State, Coppin State, UMES, and Norfolk State, so closer to the NEC than the Big South.
Also the NEC is down to 6 baseball schools (7 with Stonehill) while the Big South has 10 baseball schools.
The NEC/MEAC could have an unbalanced schedule:
Northern Division (7 NEC schools play round robin, 6 series, plus two other series).
Southern Division (4 MEAC schools play double round robin, 6 series, plus two other series).
So 6 Northern Division school would play one southern division school, and another northern division school. The seventh would play two southern division schools.
The northern schools could be paired:
Stonehill-Merrimack
Sacred Heart-Central Connecticut
Wagner-LIU
And play H-and-H series.
FDU would play two southern teams.
The southern teams would only have one road trip to the north.
