Really? Bummer. If true, I'll have to rework some soccer stuff.

Do you have a link? I searched briefly but couldn't find anything.

It was in these boards. Didn't see a media link. I'll look around.

Updated with news of NC A&T likely to the CAA. Also guessing Fairfield will be joining them.

Major Madness Twitter on January 25 was where it said Chicago State got turned down along with saying it looked like USI was going to join.

Alaska Anchorage might be able to keep Men's hockey which would be TBA as an Independent.
Agustana Men's hockey TBA? 2023 as an independent.
Of course Lindenwood for Men's hockey.
Missouri S&T Men's Volleyball tba 2022 fall.
Saint Anselm bowling ECC 2022/23, yes D2 don't sponsor championships.
Thomas More Men's Volleyball TBA 2024

Let me help you out here: UAA is bringing back Men's Ice Hockey next year as an independent at the NCAA Division I level.

They've already announced when they're leaving. The only question is how much they have to pay.

I agree that's where it will end up, but CUSA has said they can't leave yet.

For the purposes of your (impressive) chart I think it's fine to have them as out for 22 (for whatever my input is worth, which is nothing), but the i's aren't all dotted yet.

Well, CUSA can't stop them from leaving. The nature of their departure may be unresolved, but the timing isn't.

Maybe wait until they've announced their football schedule.

RE: Confirmed and Speculative D1 Realignment Moves for 2022 On
Updated to reflect Lindenwood coming to the OVC in 2022-23.

So I've got an unfounded theory that the OVC could start sponsoring men's soccer in the 2023-24 season and that CUSA will stop sponsoring men's soccer that year for lack of members. Several other conferences would also be involved. It probably won't go down exactly like this, but I think it's at least plausible.

Key
to move to different conference
moved from different conference
moved from different conference but to move to another different conference

Revised OP with some of my own speculation about Northeast and Atlantic low-major conference realignment.

As far as Men's soccer goes it's more likely you see UCF in the Sun Belt, when everything stops spinning. Its already been reported the Sun Belt has already extended them an invite. The Sun Belt as strong as it will be, will push the BE for the 2nd strongest conference behind the ACC.

Also since you only have FIU and Liberty sponsoring men's soccer in CUSA, I could see them going to the MAC to keep the MAC autobid alive.

I would need some source to confirm UCF men's soccer to the Sun Belt, as it's not been announced and a cursory Google search brings up nothing. However, it's plausible, and especially so given that I have already have WVU, Kentucky, and South Carolina (speculatively) moving their men's soccer programs to the Sun Belt.

The MAC will indeed need members, and (in addition to possibly Liberty) I think those with come from some schools joining the OVC, which lacks men's soccer. I had thought the OVC might be able to pull together at least 6 programs to sponsor the sport itself, but it doesn't seem likely, so I scratched that from the OP.

I see FIU men's soccer as joining the ASUN, given how many other Florida programs the conference has. It may be a step down competitively, but unlike UCF, the Sun Belt isn't going to invite FIU no matter how good their soccer is.

There are no reports of UCF, just those who have talked with insider knowledge. Once ODU, Southern Miss and Marshall finally get everything settled with CUSA and officially in the Sun Belt, soccer there will become more clear.

And Yes Kentucky and South Carolina will be tagging along with Marshall to the Sun Belt along with WVU. Kentucky and South Carolina have been tied to Marshall now since 1997. They both joined the MAC in soccer with Marshall in 1997, coming from the Metro Conference. When Marshall jumped to CUSA in 2005, Kentucky and South Carolina came a long and now that we will be joining the Sun Belt again they will tag along.

The ASun might be the landing spot for FIU. But men's soccer is the only thing that FIU actually brings value in to a conference. If not the MAC I could actually see the AAC offer them a spot. That would give the AAC then Charlotte, SMU and FIU as powers and Tulsa ever so often, they seem to be hit or miss on an avg year. Could have any of those programs crack the T25 anytime.

Would we discount other D2 schools moving up? I would still put Central Oklahoma as speculative since it is confirmed that they are talking to The Southland. No word if they refused or not to join, but they may wait until after the school term to make an announcement.

It’s crazy how much movement Texas and Oklahoma going to the SEC has caused.
