Akronsucks Game
I'm jumping on this early, so word can spread. We did this in 2008 and it worked out well (and that was before message boards and social media). Let's get as many Kent State fans gather in sections E & D, which is right at the top of the east stairway.

It was, and will be, a huge advantage to organize cheers when the fanbase is together and around friendly faces. Plus we had a front row seat to "at least we don't thow stuff." If word least and the Akronsucks fans beat us to that section we can just gather to another part of the JUG.

Not a bad idea, but just for the record this site, Facebook and Twitter all began a couple of years before 2008.

Of course it did, but it was not used to coordinate activities like it is now.

That's true.

Great idea , but I won’t be attending.
Several years ago at this game my car was seriously “keyed” while in a zippy campus garage. Campus police laughed at me and refused to do a report. As a result my insurance didn’t cover. Big Bucks to repair.
Be careful out there, Zippy fans can be pretty low class

Prediction: Two great halves instead of one on offense.

Kent 147, Akron 68

Depends. Will an Akronsucks student blow a whistle when we get a run going?

One of my top 2 regular-season rivalry moments.

Al Fisher. What an exciting player. Christian got quite a few really good transfers/JUCOs

I remember that being the first time I watched a hype guy live and in person. I must say, that dude had the Akron crowd in a frenzy…he and Jeremiah Wood. Al Fisher took care of that with one “sweet stroke”. Man I enjoyed the walk back to car….K!S!U!

Couldn't find a good clip of it, but here's someone filming their tv with a flip phone I'm guessing, haha. I believe that was also the "We Don't Thow Things" game.

Walking back to the car was like walking among dead people. Suddenly a Kent fan yells, "the Akron fans so quiet!" We all busted out laughing.

Will they charge to park? I hate paying to park in the ghetto.

RE: Akronsucks Game
Good first half. Blew a chance to take control at the end of the half. Failed to secure a rebound up 7 under a minute to go. Had an offensive foul after that. And a couple questionable mid range jumpers shortly before.

I really hate the remote announcers. They're really out of touch with what's actually happening.

Rough end of the game there. Glad they could get out of there with the victory.

RE: Akronsucks Game
The end of the game display by the Kent State players was way out of line. Celebrating a big victory is one thing but going to the opposing fans and enticing them and throwing things back at them was beyond the game. What a bad reflection on a hard fought game......

No one ever said this was a classy rivalry... And both sides lived up to that tonight. At least the Akron fans held their whistles tonight. Next step get them to not "thow" things.

Fans were throwing stuff prior to end of game.
Kent players could be facing suspensions for this. MAC has low tolerance.
Usually it’s no issue because so few games have much attendance
