Good read IMO.
I don't think anyone needs duh'blah to tell them that. Speculations and high goals are half the fun of fandom. Good players, play through that, regardless all the Olympic yak about the "pressures" of doing for country/fans. Just play the game for your team as it should be played. Anything that comes from that is a gift to the fans, not something owed.
If duh'local want's to think importance to them of finally making the dance means fans aren't enjoying the moment, that assumption says more about how they go about business than it does the fans. The goal is the dance. All in.

I was happy to read a Blade article without reading the Blade (which I can't). This was cross posted at Yahoo.

Great win!!!! Good atmosphere. I really love going to the games!!!!! I was disappointed with the BSU game but this got me back in line with this team. What a great ride so far.
This is a real team. '22 Toledo epitomizes team ball. Hoosiers revisited
Go Rockets!

Had time to waste so I compared minutes to the teams in ESPNs top ten mid-major.
Over 20 games, our bench is actually a bit longer but our top five's minutes are far higher than anyone's but Wyoming. 159.5 to 158.5. N. Texas is next at 152 but they play only 7. Their 6th gives them 22 minutes and their 7th gives 16. On the advantage of balanced minutes alone, UAB would probably be our toughest match-up. No one goes 30 minutes with very little skew in the distribution as opposed to ours, which looks like a table top. They could run us and keep fresh. I also noted that Oakland played two of them pretty close. We'd match up with Oakland much better now that the new players have found their place.

Next free time you get compare us to us in prior years. Seems like we had five in the MAC top ten minutes played in years past. Well off that pace this year. I think with several weak teams upcoming we should go into Cleveland with fresher legs than we’ve had in years.

I used ESPN data. Should be able to dig that up. Perceptions, memories and facts not always being the same. I was surprised we are playing more players, though with a caveat. Early we played Wilson. Now we don't. So it really isn't depth so much as a switch. Could be the same for the other teams but that's TOO much digging.
The drop between our 5 and 6 is 16.3 minutes. Next closest was St Mary's at 9 minutes then Davidson at 7.

I heard Ohio U’ Head Coach Jeff Boals complement Toledo’s defense after the game saying that they are the only team in the league that switches on every screen which made it difficult to adjust to something they don’t see regularly. When was the last time you heard any Toledo opponent talk about their defense? As for Boals comment, it is a testament to the athleticism of our Starting 5 that they can all guard multiple positions that allows them to switch regularly like they do. Having a good defense to fall back on when things are not going well on offense or when we they need some key stops on the defensive end is something that we have not had in our toolbox for many years and could be the missing ingredient to getting us to The Big Dance.

We gained 7 points during one of Carcoana's short stints. We generally haven't lost ground when he's in. Can't teach tall. Depth.

in the CMU-ball St game 2 CMU starters played all 45 minutes (OT). TK worked the bench pretty hard in the first half vs OU. He knew they aren't deep and got our guys a couple extra minutes rest. of course, we didn't need the fresh legs late but it was noticeable. I think he'll need to trust the bench a little more in the 2nd half to win postseason games.

Just a bit before my time. I still remember laying on the wooden floor with the radio, listening to Rocket games that weren't on TV. Those announcers really painted a picture. I like this new guy on TV. Has a unique but easy to listen to voice. He does the BCSN high school games too. Rarely gets in the way of the game, always adds.
