Here are some of the highlights.
1. Jackson St 42,293
2. Montana 24,584
3. JMU 19,631
4.Montana St 19,176
7. JSU 16,809
8. NDSU 15,101
10. UD 12,844
13. UNH 11,576
And this one stood out for all the wrong reasons...
45. Sam Houston 7,283
Props to Jackson St for crushing it. UD and UNH were the highest remaining members of our old conference. I'll admit I was surprised that UNH was that high.
Soft Houston at 7k going to FBS is everything wrong with teams moving up to FBS. I will be shocked if they are successful at the next level.
UNH definitely "playing games" to reach that number. Apparently, there were over 17K fans at the UNH-JMU game...which those of us who were there can attest...was BS.
I guess that people apparently needed tickets to get into the tailgating lots -and many (most?) of them stayed there and never entered the game (and probably never planned to). But actual attendance was likely closer to 6-7K rather than the 17K they reported.

The one thing that will be kind of nice, regardless of who is our last week rival in the SBC is that we only have to worry about that dropping our attendance every other year, unlike the FCS playoffs where we are just about guaranteed to host the early round. In this case we most likely won't hit a double whammy of hosting both weekends in the schedule, some years our away host will take the hit instead.
That's a good point. The thanksgiving weekend home game will only happen every other year, and maybe fans can "rationalize" it as a once every 2 years occurrence. The FCS playoffs at home were every November and December, every single season. It's more of a commitment in less time.
We really need the schedule to never have two home games the last two games of the season. If we can alternate the two weekends every year it would give a little stability to the attendance. Two home games in a row with no students would be tough.

I think I recall an article after UNH renovated their stadium that they had a 21k game, but everyone that went said, "How?!".
It was revealed that you had to have a game ticket to tailgate in their lots and there was maybe 21k physically in the vicinity of the stadium, but no all of them actually walked through the turnstiles to go to the game. It was still called a 21k game anyways.
They literally counted anyone within a certain mile radius of the stadium that day. that's not how it works.

Wow what a load of crap. This is the kind of stuff that they need to crack down on. Ridiculous.
There's one thing if someone buys a football ticket and chooses not to attend. There's another to sell a "ticket" for a parking space and call that game attendance.

Penn State or Ohio State could start claiming 150k+ attendance figures using the same logic.
