RE: Maxx Crosby wins Pro Bowl defensive MVP
Roughly the same per year as he signed a 4 year deal. When it’s completed he may be able to ink another monster deal.

Congrats to Maxx. Wonder if he'll follow suit and donate back to EMU. What will he sponsor?

I don’t follow football as much as basketball. But how prominent was Max Crosby on the EMU team. I remember him being good of course, but were we predicting he was a future NFL player?
In any case, very happy for his success!

Someone posted an article that he donated regularly to an Ypsi food shelter- nice to see. Seems like a good guy, and sure EMU program will see some of his success.

I can remember when we all thought Neathery was God! His schematics and the 4-2-5 Gary Patterson TCU defense were brilliant, we were SO happy with our defense!

Unfortunately, our opinions have diametrically changed. While we also had Jerry Harris, Kyle Rachwal, POC, Brody Hoying and Vince Calhoun, Maxx Crosby was clearly our best defensive player, and those guys were root cause of Neathery genius.

I know I have recounted this story before but in 2018, both Maxx Crosby and CMU's Michael Danna were named All MAC defensive ends. Maxx left for the NFL a year early but tattooed the Block E on his arm and proudly identifies his university as Eastern Michigan for NBC TV football and anyone else. Mike, however, grad transferred to U-M for one season and while he did also get to the NFL, he identifies himself as a Michigan Wolverine! Thanks Maxx!

Yep, Ramy, admittedly I did forecast that Maxx was an NFL player before his junior season based on his speed. This prompted Bob to counter that Maxx was too skinny and probably runs a 5.0 flat in the 40. This is why I give him a reminder jab when I write “not bad for a skinny kid” in my posts :-)

His dad used to post on here and heavily roots for EMU and Coach Creighton!

His dad did heavily root for EMU, coach Creighton, and...sprinkled in some far right, pro Trump opinions which got overlooked by everyone but me, oh well. Maxx was very skinny and he proved what hard work and determination can do. Hats off to the guy, he earned it. As mentioned many times, he also seems like a great guy too.

Bob time for a serious REALITY CHECK!

You were dissing Maxx and subsequently irritating his father LONG before Bryan Crosby expressed any pro-Trump opinions, the idea that your posts were solely due to his political views is indeed a "dog that won't hunt". RIDICULOUS or COMICAL would be too mild of terms to describe your behavior.

Be that as it may, I do appreciate your capitulation as to Maxx's accomplishments. I might suspect it although to be the result of the compilation of other board members castigating you as well as the undeniable fact that Maxx is a very good player.

Nevertheless, the KEYBOARD WARRIOR BOB WICKERSHAM could totally make amends to us all by doing one thing: Pay the $20K Joey Hauser bet you lost to EMU athletics and I for one, might actually take you seriously. Pull that trigger Bob, do it now!

We do not hold political views as important here. They are essentially irrelevant unless they relate to some POLICY issue directly related to EMU, higher education, collegiate athletics and student athletes (e.g., COA, NIL), etc. etc.

Funding of higher education, Title IX, NIL, etc. are relevant. (all are policy issues which are debated each year by those in political power).

The keystone pipeline, for example, is not. Ditto coal. Even climate change. Roads and infrastructure, however, are partially relevant as EMU exists as an institution within Ypsilanti and Washtenaw County.

I think we do well to keep this type of question in mind: How does the topic under discussion relate to EMU, MAC etc. including Ypsilanti and Washtenaw County, especially athletics, as this is a sports forum?

E,g,, some Customs and Immigration Service rules and regs which make it more difficult for foreign student to come to study here (including EMU) would be relevant.

Changes in enrollment. Changes in student loans programs. Changes in law effecting health insurance for students.

Steve,

I’m glad you brought up the keystone pipeline, let’s get it turned back on so we can have affordable energy until a sustainable energy source is available for everyone !

Pipelines transport oil Lucky they don't increase the oil supply. But here educate yourself.
