They are having rough seasons but we know that Marshall and ODU can be very good. I expect they will be good again soon.

It’s going to be much tougher to reload in belt.

I don't expect much from Sun Belt basketball, but like others have said, at least ODU has shown a pulse in recent years.

UTEP's schedule is about to get much tougher in the eight remaining games. If we survive with a top 4 ranking, Golding will have exceeded even the most optimistic expectations.

I don’t read much into these things, but UNCC gets thumped from the tip by WKU and goes +1??

Yeah, it was close... unfortunately you fell .0024 points away from 7th place. We are using CUSA admin office math here. I'm sorry.

But seriously, yeah WKU could/should be #7.... But when you start doing rankings you have to look at the entire picture.

Sure, you throttled Charlotte, but there are also sitting at 5-4 in the conference while y'all are in there at 4-6.

If Western Kentucky wasn't so bipolar, one night playing like Marshall then the next night playing like UAB, you have to admit, you wouldn't be in the middle of the pack. It's impossible to get a read on Western this year.

Agreed. We had a very slow start to conference play to say the least. We get a week off before playing FAU at home on Thursday, but they will be on 2 days rest after playing ODU on Tuesday. Tops then get 4 straight against USM, UTSA, CHAR, ODU which Kenpom has us as at least 9 point favorites in those 4 games. As you said, bipolar is the word. We could follow up a 5 game losing streak with a 7 game win streak, or we could drop half of them. We are clearly better than our record indicates as we are still the 4th best Kenpom team in the conference at 110, but we've lacked any type of consistency all year. Next 2 weeks is the whole season for us.

Gah I really wish I could argue that #1 ranking, seeing as how UAB beat UNT in Denton, but we all know how bad those damn losses were.

Fair take sir. Thanks a lot. WKU is for sure the most confusing team in the league.

This seems fair, but I still have a problem placing UNT 1st, when we haven't beaten UAB on the court. I've got our rematch on the 19th circled.

we've taken losses to Rice and Marshall, you've lost to us once. We don't deserve #1 right now.

The read is we only have 6 guys who can play basically at this point. Offense is usually good, defense is bad if matchup is not good(aka quick guards and average shooters). If teams cannot shoot we will win games...To be fair we have already played all of the top teams as we saw this past week with unbalanced schedules for ODU and UNCC who have not played all of the tougher teams yet...Schedule is fairly easy rest of the way for WKU....I will be shocked even if at home if MTSU shoots 3s like they are in a warm up line like they did in Diddle...

They shot 15 of 32 (46.3 percent) against us; we simply destroyed them in every other aspect of the game and beat them by 22 (and it wasn't that close). They can definitely shoot the 3 in more than one game.

They shot, well one guy pretty much shot 15/26 57.7 percent. Jefferson was 7/9 from 3. On the season he shoots the 3 ball at a 36.5 percent clip. Now I realize when wide open its easier but still some teams shoot worse from 3 in warm up line...
