Campus has already changed so much recently. I graduated about 5 years ago and the place is almost unrecognizable to me. And like you said, there is much more in the works.
I believe upgrading campus was put off for far too long. All the dorms from the early 60s are falling apart, Dunbar (which is currently being renovated) was crumbling while I was a student. Dalton is aging, most of the athletics venues are aging. There is a lot of work to do, but the recent upgrades are great.
I'm glad Stadium Drive is going to be reworked. It's an ugly road and it runs right beside main campus. It's good that the "South Neighborhood" is being revamped, as that is the face of the university along Stadium. Those old Elmwood apartments were terribly ugly.
I do wish that the new buildings on campus had a more uniform aesthetic. I'm partial to the old redbrick classic collegiate look, but as long as there's some cohesiveness, I'm happy. You can see a live view of the new campus construction here:

All the new buildings have a different look and feel from one another. And I don't really like the new student center. It's going to be very nice inside and is a massive upgrade over Bernhard, but man is it a goofy looking building.
If you've ever been to Miami's campus, that's what I wish ours looked like. It's beautiful, with a consistent architectural aesthetic. Classic "college" feel.
