Oliver said he was playing those 6 guys heavy minutes because they were the ones who he felt gave us the best chance to win and his plan is to keep playing them that much and hope somebody else steps back up.
At least that is how I understood him

Thanks for the info. The only thing I can say is...that approach isn't working.

While the approach is not working, I'm not sure how many other options are realistically available. Coach doesn't trust Weber. Nunez is only an option for major foul trouble. Haven't seen enough of George to know how ready he is but I don't see that we're that thin at guard. Charles is the only one left and it's not clear he's ready for double digit minutes yet either. Unless I missed someone, the redshirts are all that's left. Riding the six horses he's been riding may be the best option right now.

Not sure why Weber’s minutes have decreased but he will be needed more for the last six conference games plus the tournament. Walk-on George does not travel with the team to away games and Charles hasn’t dressed out for the past two games. Does he have an injury? Nunez and Farah have played limited minutes this year but they could be key contributors down the stretch. The Bucs have lost the last five games by a total of 15 points. They can beat any team in the conference. Buc fans need to show up for the remaining home games and cheer this team on. Go BUCS!

RE: Official Game Thread: @ Wofford
Weber's a curious case. He wasn't setting the world on fire, but he's went from 15 minutes per game to single digits. And the past couple games I've seen him, he just simply wasn't contributing. He's a type of player, tall and potentially physical, that we simply don't have right now, so it's not like he can't fill that role to some degree.
Didn't realize Charles hadn't been dressing. However, I've seen that most true freshmen are learning and should be used a few minutes here and there. So I wouldn't expect Coach to rely on Charles, Nunez, or Farah.
And, if there is a silver lining to the cloud, it's that these last five losses have been close losses and not blowouts.

How much closer can it be at being 17-8 at this point?

Don't forget Appy St and NC A&T, 2 more games we shoulda/coulda won.

19-6. Too lazy to search out any other DI team this year with this many close losses- especially losing at the very end of the games. If the Bucs weren’t having such bad luck this year, they’d be having no luck at all.

Let's not lose perspective here......
We're 5-7 in games decided by 6 points or less. But if you extend it to 8 points, which then includes W's over Murray St., Morehead St., and Mercer, we're 8-7.
It's absolutely true that we've had a series of maddening, narrow, could-have-gone-with-way losses, but one could also make the case that's it more of a reversion to the mean for our earlier 'narrow escapes'. Just sayin' - not being critical.

It’s not just losing close games. It’s not being able to hold double digit leads.
