Women's LAX
They better get their act together with the TO’s.

They’re down 4 2nd qtr and risk losing the first home Conference game in 11 seasons!

We score 4 in a row to tie it at the half. And done it all without a goal from Peterson yet this game.

Temple was 8-3 overall and 3-0 in the AAC before today’s loss. That’s another good win for the lady Dukes. Three more conference games before the conference tournament. The Dukes will be favored in all three.

I wish I knew all the rules, because some of these calls dont pass the sniff test. JMU down by one against a ranked florida team.

RE: Women's LAX
Down two in the third. Just turned it off due to a combination of the florida announcers and the officiating. We took our first lead of the game and then 5 straight questionable calls (or no calls) went against us.

The stats will show the fouls are close, but you have to take into account 5 of the 9 calls that went against florida were basically non-lax plays where someone hit us due to frustration (two cross checks to the face, two knockdowns in the open field where they weren't playing the ball or the stick or even fighting for position - just a knockdown because they were mad about something, and one where they just leveled a player setting up at the top because they thought the ref missed a call on the other end. Remove those calls and it is almost a three to one bias against the team not playing dirty.

I might turn it back on in a little bit, but I had to walk away.

RE: Women's LAX
I talked about it earlier, but this is the first game in any sport in a while where I thought the officials were WAY more important in determining the outcome than either team.

To recap:

Early in the third, JMU had a 6-5 lead. At that point, there were the 5 blatant fouls outside the flow of the game by Florida I mentioned in my previous post. Otherwise, the calls were 5 on JMU, 4 on Florida, even though Florida was not controlling their sticks. For example, a play where Epke's goggles were knocked 10 feet off her head by a Florida stick was determined to be not a foul in the first half.

Then, as soon as we took the lead, the officials completely took over the match. Sixteen of the remaining eighteen fouls went against us!

This one was 100% on bogus officiating in front of the florida crowd.

Won't be a popular post, but it needs to be mentioned. If we, as a non P5, want to be taken seriously- we need to win more games against ranked teams. In our 4 losses this season, we were the higher ranked team in 3 of them. We need to affirm what the pollsters have awarded us, or we will simply fall back into the clump of G5 programs who crumble when faced with tougher P5 competition. When we ***** about not getting respect when having a good season (in any sport), we need to realize that losses like these are what fuels the non P5 bias against us.

Yeah, it feels like a mental issue to me. I was at Maryland & Hopkins. When we get down in the second half, it feels we hang our heads and crumble at times.
