Some big shoes to fill. He was a great Coordinator/Recruiter for the Texans. Wish him nothing but the best.

I do worry about a brain drain. With success we will continue to see our coaches lured away by big $.

I hate to hear that our DC job was less desirable than a position coach job at a non power 5 school.

Who is on the short list of replacements?

Best of luck to Marcus and his family.

My guess is we go outside the current staff for the replacement. Coach Walton, the Special Teams Coordinator, was the DC for D2 Eastern New Mexico. DL coach Cornell Brown would be the other internal candidate.

I’ve not seen any news regarding the new DC. I would like to see an internal candidate, like Cornell, earn the job. Going external is usually associated with higher cost, and I don’t want to spend that additional cost… yet.

Big time, outside, hire!!!

Nix has a ton of P5 Experience. I would love to see some of these contract details (Whitten’s included).
