Based on offers, it seems today's 3 stars are yesteryear's 2 stars.

I like the speed he brings as a FB/Track athlete. Might be another Calvin Austin.

We have done pretty well with non-highly touted receivers the past few years...

I read 4.43 not 4.3 was his official timed speed. Still fast though.

I like his videos but his stats are very impressive. 59 receptions for 1133 yards in 2021 and 54 rushes for 517 yards (9.6 Yards Per Carry). 1650 total yards (1st in the state of Alabama & 3rd in the nation among WR)

Based on offers, it seems today's 3 stars are yesteryear's 2 stars.

Again, COVID wrecked the 2020 season for many of these kids. Recruiting was limited and there are A LOT of kids that don't have big offers that were under the radar. It carried over to this recruiting cycle and coaches are just now catching up.

And it is football. There are tens of thousands of high school football players and there is no AAU system for the small school kids to participate in during the summer to garner recognition. There will always be an abundance of under the radar football players it is simply impossible for recruits to see all of them.

Football camps were always where recruits got noticed. I know even back in the 80's that was how you got noticed if you weren't on a decent profile team.

These days connections play as big of a role as any.

I know a lot of programs are focusing most of their time and effort on the portal. When thousands of players declare, it is like a recruiting season all to itself. Most teams don't have the time, effort and especially money to do recruiting of HS players the justice it deserves.
