RE: Signing day today
24/7 has Marshall as the top G5 class when you take out the 3 going to the Big 12. Rivals is the same, ranked 58th overall. Surprise today was a safety that had 29 offers including Alabama, LSU and a bunch of other P5s.

Huff and his staff need to be commended.

Marshall seemingly always does well in these recruiting rankings. The last few years we saw a dip, but I think there's real momentum going forward.

I am hopeful one of the incoming freshmen QBs can take over.

I just looked at WKU and not sure how much stock to put into their recruiting rankings (probably very little), but WKU is ranked 6th in CUSA compared to 14th last year and 93rd nationally compared to 139th last year.

Seems like there are several kids with G5 and P5 offers that chose SHSU. I'd be curious with how well those offers were vetted by the recruiting sites or if offers were pulled from the kid at some point.

I see a couple of Houston, Colorado, Cincinnati, Memphis offers in there. Nice job recruiting by SHSU at any rate.

RE: Signing day today
Interesting to note that in terms of Rivals' average rating per recruit, if you take out Cincinnati, Houston, and UCF, who are soon to be Big 12, the top four G5 are all AAC, as well as six of the top ten.

1) SMU - 2.83
2) Memphis - 2.8
3) USF - 2.75
4) UTSA - 2.75
5) SDSU - 2.59
6) LA Tech - 2.56
7) App State - 2.5
8) ECU - 2.44
9) Marshall - 2.38
10) Tulane - 2.35

Outstanding job by LA Tech btw considering Cumbie barely moved in.

RE: Signing day today
We finished with 14 signed. Strong class overall. A bunch of juco help on OLine so we will see how they are. Apparently there are 5-6 they can’t talk about as they are supposed to be spring transfers. Anyone seen that before?

We did a pretty good job of recruiting above our weight in FCS. Keeler puts a lot of time and effort into making sure his assistant coaches are good recruiters. I know we did land a few transfers from out-of-state, but I think most of those originally from Texas. Keeler has said over and over again that within a 3-4 hour drive radius of Huntsville is the best high school football in the nation....includes Houston, Dallas/Ft. Worth, Austin, San Antonio and all of the small towns in between. A lot of these kids that don't get signed by the Big 12 and SEC still want to play close to home. We take advantage of that.

Also, our academics are underrated. We are a destination school for certain academic programs.

Nice job to the top ten!!!

Rice is “last” among AAC-bound schools but “not last” in current CUSA
(Thx: MT, FIU, UTEP) and “not last” in AAC (thx: Navy, whose 64-member class no doubt drags down their ‘average’ rank)

RE: Signing day today
Tech's signee list got some updates today (not really new news, but I assume the timing has to do with actual enrollment for the Spring quarter which just started).

Recruiting sites haven't updated yet, but it's possible our overall ranking could move a little, at least where they include transfers once it's all final.
