WBB tonight (Mon.)
WBB at WMU tonight 6 p.m. ESPN3 and 98.9 FM/1360 AM

Hoping to see some benchwork, pick it up without Chelby Koker. Will be interesting to see who starts at pg, how coaching adjusts.

NIU (7-10, 4-5 MAC)
WMU (11-5, 5-2 MAC)

How exciting! That’s a great win, especially on the road.

Not only on the road, but without your best player. And by their record, against a good MAC team.

RE: WBB tonight (Mon.)
Obviously a very small sample size--but Jayden Marable two starts at point guard 49 minutes----ZERO turnovers. I understand that her role in the offense is completely different than that of Chelby---but Chelby's glaring weakness was turning the ball over---72 turnovers this year against 73 assists.

And---it is so nice to see Paulina Castro on the court with some decent minutes. Hoping her back is well enough to contribute.

Back to the playing well portion of the cycle---let's stay away from the other side for a while, please.

Absolutely. Castro hit 5 of 5 from three; if she and Janae Poisson start hitting at the same time, it will rain threes. And Marable played a very competent pg (as MP noted). Also listed as a soph, so game experience a definite plus.

WBB has won 4 of last 5, heading into a "homer" with BGSU on Weds. 6 p.m./ESPN3/98.9 FM/1360 AM. Falcons are 9-8, 4-4 MAC. NIU is 8-10, 5-5- MAC.

If they play like they have been playing for the rest of the year, a 3rd, 4th or 5th seed is a possibility in the conference tourney. The only drawback is the teams ahead them have a couple of games in hand.

Now we know Koker is officially done for the season.

Quote:Koker sustained a season-ending knee injury during Wednesday’s game against Kent State University and will be out for the remainder of the 2021-22 season.
