Lofton just chucked the ball into the stands for a technical. Probably does it for the LT comeback bid.

Big time win for FAU. When they are hot shooting, they are tough to beat.

Solid win by FAU
Frustrated Lofton from start to finish with a T and fouling out.
Lead from start to finish.
11-3 at home with one a 2 point loss to the Canes

LT got called for a questionable foul on a FAU 3. The ball bounced to Lofton and he blasted it over his head into the stands. In addition to the Technical foul, it counted as a personal foul too, which was his 4th irc.

He was whining from the start until he fouled out. He does have a sense of humor though.

RE: CUSA Basketball - Week 6 of Conference Play
Kind of a ridiculous cancellation on the women's side tonight as the Rice at UTSA game was postponed due to hazardous road conditions in San Antonio (the roads weren't great as they had some freezing precip earlier in the day but the precip was long gone when they called the contest). I get that they don't want people on the roads, but why not play the game without fans?

The problem was Rice was already in San Antonio and en route to the game when the UTSA president made the call to stop the game. They literally got a call in the bus telling them the game was off. And both teams already are trying to make up other games so there really aren't any obvious dates to reschedule the game. You can't play the game tomorrow morning as that would be really rough on Rice to play a game, then fly to El Paso and play another game the next day.

Personally, I don't think they should bother trying to make up the game. The two teams are likely going to be 5th, 6th or 7th in the western division.

I dont know the exact timing that the bus was en route, but TXDoT started shutting down all of the flyovers in San Antonio earlier this evening. It's possible that UTSA realized too late that there wasn't a way to get to campus anymore, as you definitely need to take flyovers to get to campus from much of the city.

That said, the school should have realized wayyyy earlier in the day that that was a probability.

Or we play really good at home, 11-3 with a 1-point loss vs. an ACC team.

CUSA Basketball - Week 6 of Conference Play
On the Men’s side, UTSA has been showing signs of life lately, hung tough at Rice but ultimately the Owls prevailed 91-78.

UTSA came back from 17 down to tie it early in the 2H, and Rice was able to pull away again late.

UTEP at Rice tomorrow for 4th place, and with LaTech’s road loss are they catchable for 3rd? (Spoiler alert, probably not, but the standings for 3/4/5 are tight right now)

The West is proving to be not as good as thought compared to the East. UAB barely beating Western and losing to Marshall and now La Tech losing to FAU. I think the West had a more favorable schedule early on compared to the East.

I noticed that, too. Western Kentucky and ODU might be coming around and Middle Tennessee and Florida Atlantic continue to outperform expectations. The West is carrying the worst two teams in C-USA.

Rice controls their destiny with the next three conference games being UTEP, North Texas and @UAB. After a trip to Miami, the Owls host Louisiana Tech. This is a good time to break the Miner and Mean Green winning streaks and build on our current 2-game win streak.

We’ve definitely played our best basketball the last two games. We’re not really a bad team, just been bad at winning games this year. We’ve folded coming down the stretch in many games this year, if we start playing 40 minutes then we could be trouble. Still looks like the top 3 in the west are the top 3 in conference.

I knew I should have watched that game. That trip to Boca is looking dangerous now.
