MLB HoF vote
The reasoning behind the vote.

Barry Bonds is feeling the pushback from his steroid use.

Clemens may have won 7 Cy Young awards but he only won 20 games 6 times in his 24 years.

I can't think of a group with less integrity than the Baseball Writer's Association except maybe Democrats in Congress. That said, the HOF has certainly lost its luster and currently it's become more of a popularity contest. It's quickly becoming irrelevant.

Bonds and Clemens I waffle back and forth on. Schilling wasn't involved in the streroids was he? If he wasn't then just like HHT said, the baseball writers have zero integrity. They're blackballing Schilling because he's 'outspoken'?. Good lord, what a world we've created. Finally, even though he wasn't voted on, it's horribly wrong that Pete Rose is not in the HOF. What baseball has done to him is unthinkable. He's 80 now. It's almost like MLB is waiting for him to die before they honor him. Rob Manfred is bad for baseball and needs to go.

Maddux only did it twice (20 and 20) in 23 seasons.

I hear he was pretty good.

Hell, Clemens had as many 20 win seasons in his first four seasons as Greg did in his 23 year career.

Randy Johnson had 3.

Nolan Ryan had 2.

Mussina had 1.

RE: MLB HoF vote
I don't know what to do with Schilling, or with modern (1990-present) starting pitchers.

He only won 216 games and really only had a six year run where he was excellent. Maybe 7 of 8 years if we count a down year after the six year run.

But is that "Hall of Fame" worthy? A six year run? Felix Hernandez had a six year run where he won a CY Young, finished top 10 in CY voting 6 out of 7 years and was an All-Star six times. And he won't sniff votes.

A HoF w/out Bonds or Clemens is just stupid. For Christ's sake, Ty Cobb, Jeff Bagwell, Gaylord Perry and Orlando Cepeda are in.

Schilling is a conservative.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame deserves consideration. F199 comes to mind.

You mean the Mistake by the Lake? Yeah, nobody wants to go to f--king cleveland so they added a lot of non rockers so it's not what it claims to be.

Some Memphis historian like the 1016 feller will remind you that it was supposed to go in the pyramid but we got Shlenked out of it.

Cleveland bought the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Plain and simple.
