I agree completely 70s. We are 3 point dogs this morning.

I get all the signs pointing to a trap game but i just can't understand how we'd be dogs. Maybe a close favorite, but dogs?

@Northeastern - GAME 15 - CAA GAME 6
It is strange but I guess the bookies have their reasons.
I was thinking about this road trip this morning. At the start of it all a record of 2 & 2 seemed to be a nice goal - you know. The thought of going 3 & 1 was wishful thinking. 4 & 0 was a pipe dream. Funny how now a 3 & 1 result would be somewhat disappointing. Time was a team worked to win all home games & split on the road. Win tonite and we will have won at least 4 of our scheduled 9 road games. Thusfar this has been a "who'd a thunk it" season.

Let's phrase the question a bit differently. Without looking at anything else, if you were told Northeastern could be 0-8 in conference under Coen, would you take that bet? I know I wouldnt. One of the best coaches in the league at home with their backs firmly against a wall. That is not a territory that team is ever in, but find themselves there now. Not saying the line is accurate, but there is plenty about it that makes sense. Add to it short turnaround from an OT road game for your squad, and a let down is not a crazy thought.

RE: @Northeastern - GAME 15 - CAA GAME 6
I wonder how rare it is to have a conference game with a winless team favored over an undefeated team with at least 12 combined conference games played.

Without home court, the overall Sagarin thinks you're 0.45 better, and KenPom thinks you're 0.73 better. I wonder what the rankings would predict based on the last five games for each team.

I actually like the fact that UNCW is the underdog. Not just based on ESPN algorithms, but based upon real people betting real money. Our worst enemy would be thinking that there is not top to bottom parity in the CAA. From what I've seen so far, literally anybody can beat anybody this year and it not be some crazy outcome.

I wouldn't take that bet. I do know this - streaks begin & streaks end. Plus, the longer a streak goes on - the closer it gets to ending. That is why I think this is a dangerous game. A Coen team 0-8 in the conference? Crazy is the word but you never know.

RE: @Northeastern - GAME 15 - CAA GAME 6
As if we need any more reasons not to take Northeastern lightly, keep in mind that 3 of their 7 CAA losses were decided by 4 points or less, with one of those games going to OT.

That's how close they were to being 3-4 instead of 0-7 at the moment. No, they're not good, but they've also been very unlucky. Some regression is to be expected.

Something to take a little comfort in, since most all of us see this as a trap game...

Even with a loss tonight, we'll still be in 1st place.

As it should be.

RE: @Northeastern - GAME 15 - CAA GAME 6
Their record isn't what I'm basing my prediction on, it's the matchup, and that's what I base every prediction on. They have size, but it doesn't translate into offense or good defense. For whatever reason they turn the ball over a lot, and that's what really has me thinking this may be our biggest point difference. Everything I've looked at makes this seem like a good matchup for our style of play and a bad matchup for them. It takes a high powered offense, a team that can shut down our drives, and a team that doesn't turn it over to beat us and NU has none of that. Hofstra and JMU are the two teams that matchup the best against us because they have efficient offenses and strong guard play to take away our strengths.

Also, remember that even though we've been on the road our guards are well rested, having sat on the bench more than normal due to fouls And just as importantly, Fornes and Harvey have stepped up big time. That spells trouble for a team like NU. We are now going six guards deep on any given night with all of those guards being as good as, if not better, than any of the NU guards. Our speed and quickness is devastating

All of that is fair. This is indeed a good matchup, both on paper and from what others have observed about NU's play. But when you're dealing with a coach like Bill Coen, at any given time we could see NU making some significant adjustments which render some of their weaknesses moot.

They have used a fairly deep bench all year, mostly because of injuries/COVID, so perhaps we'll see a very different lineup tonight than they've used the last few days. All depends on who they have available.

I’m thinking 4 sets of 25 each knuckle push-ups ,3 sets of dumbbell curls (30 lb or more), shoulder work, calf raises and at least 15 100 yard sprints for cardio.then sit ups while partaking in some cold cranberry juice mixed with 70 percent water. How does that sound before the game?

I am in no position to dictate how much or how little an adult over the age of 21 should consume alcohol.

Myself, I'll drink to that and a lot of other things tonight. I'm anticipating a fair amount of consumption in my near future, but I'll be sure to do so in the safety of my home. Fair warning in case my posts get incoherent this glorious evening.

Nope. Bourbon & branch water (and very little of that - if any).
