I know other teams deal with injuries, too, but to constantly have to patch holes leads to the mediocrity we've seen. I'm willing to let it play out and see what happens when/if we get the missing pieces back on the floor before demanding a change.

Actually no. When Penny has his full roster he just plays more guys. 10-11-12 guys with no set line up, even when all are healthy, that's the basis for instability. Just excuses for losing.

Players also look out for their futures...

Does anyone believe Laswsons ankle is still "hurt"? No he is trying a medical redshirt...

So that lets you know that Jonathan aint coming off redshirt either.

And there are 11 games left and if the 3 guys decide to come back and play tomorrow...Do you think the guys who sacrificed their redshirt for the team stay in the rotations.

Well, Lawson is playing today, so I think the medical RS theory can be tossed.

Obviously none of us actually know. I personally think any of those guys would burn their redshirt without hesitation.

Yep that shocked me...I think he took one for the team.

Because it tough to believe and ankle keeps you out 2 months. He did look much better than he did earlier in the year as well.

An ankle can keep you out for months but idk about Lawson.

RE: Short Handed? Playing walk-ons? Why not take redshirt off?
When Penny had the convo early in the season about RSing the 3 frosh, it had to have been a tough convo. The players would not like it. But he sold them on it being the best for the LT development.
Now, what kind of message would it be to them if he took them off because se need some stopgaps to get us through a bad run of injuries?
It would be the exact kind of coach a parent would NOT want their kids to play for.
Some of you need some new perspectives.
