McCurry with costly turnovers. Did Bellamy foul out?

Mens game started at 2:00 and lasted 1:58.
Women effectively played a game and a half and lasted 2:58

No, at some point in the 2nd half she must've gone to the locker room. But I didn't see when, nor did I see the cause. But Edmonds better hope it's not a serious injury. Because McCurry isn't playable (except to give other players a breather) and without Bellamy, we'd have 5+McCurry.

3.5 seconds left, Rice ball.

I can't believe we didn't foul instead of letting them get the 3 off. We should have won this game in regulation and after each of the first two OTs. In the first two instances, we had the 2 point lead and the ball with under 18 seconds on the clock, and immediately turned the ball over both times. Inexcusable. That's what happens when you only have one ball handler on the team, and she fouled out with a couple minutes to go in regulation. And, because we have absolutely no bench, neither Austin or Fisher-- both with four personals-- could play defense the final two OT periods.

You've got to applaud the effort by the six players-- they certainly left everything, literally, on the court, but again, Edmonds was a fool to go into the season with such a depleted roster. It did not have to be the case. It's unfair to healthy players.

I’m unclear what choice she might have had.

Um, the transfer portal. She made a conscious decision not to aggressively pursue transfers despite knowing we lost 4 of our 5 starters, as well as two our of bench players (not to mention McCurry was still injured and Bokunewicz was coming off a knee injury that kept her out all of her Freshman season). And we were still dealing with the uncertain impact of COVID. Stover was the only pickup and she was simply a relatively minor role player during her career. As I've said before, when asked why not, Edmonds' explanation was that she did not want to adversely affect team chemistry and culture. I understand wanting to maximize flexibility and roster space for future classes, but there were plenty of Seniors and grad transfers in the portal, who would not have impacted that flexibility. Sure, it would have be ideal if we could have picked up one or two impact transfers to replace the 4 starters we lost, but more than anything else, we needed bodies and bench reinforcement.

Probably a mistake to gamble on not getting any grad transfers, but that’s done. My opinion was that that the players on the roster played valiantly yesterday and should be commended for their fight.

Great effort with only 7 players. Langley has yet to win a conference game at Washington.

Really only 6 players as McCurry didn't check in until Jackson fouled out with only a couple minutes to go in regulation.
