GOR questions
Ok, so from what I can tell from reading here, there, and everywhere:

Clemson and Florida State want into the SEC - and might, if the GOR situation is figured out.

Fans seem to think that NC, Duke, Va, and GT, are also potentially available.

It also seems apparent that WVA (and maybe Cinn and UCF) would jump at a chance to join the ACC; or Kansas and IA state to Big10, though, again, GOR - presuming they are wanted.

And around this forum, most seem to think the G5 teams that are likely to be added as replacements are: Memphis, Boise state, SMU, and USF (and a few others). If so, why doesn't someone just grab them now, and take them off the board?

I'm not a lawyer, but I think I understand well enough that there are contract penalties to be looked at and negotiated and maybe even lawsuits.

But in the end, we are seeing TX and OU leaving a GOR conference. We saw Maryland do so previously.

What's the breaking point here? At what point do they make the choice to move?

This all just seems murky now that the GORs of several conferences are apparently with the same entities - ESPN, CBS, FOX, etc.

So at what point will this happen?

I'm curious what everyone thinks about the decision making process and the economics of these things in reality, not just a "vague wave" to the grant of rights/media rights.

One small correction - Maryland escaped the ACC before the GoR prison walls went up. They left after failing, along with Florida State, to stop the exit fee being increased.

RE: GOR questions
And it's becoming more and more likely Texas and Oklahoma do not leave before the GOR is up.

Wait and watch. The devil is in the details of the SCOTUS rulings on NIL and soon, and especially, athletes as employees.

That's an awfully vague claim ... it would be technically true whether the likelihood was approaching closer and closer to 100% ...

... or closer and closer to 10%.

Is there actually any evidence it's on the high side of 50%? After all, if ABC/ESPN is angling to have them join in 2024, when the OTA rights are not shared with CBS, they have plenty of time.

What evidence is there that Fox is cool with losing the Texas and Oklahoma properties before then? I'm not saying they won't leave early, but how is Fox going to be made whole in all of this?
