Exclamation TE visiting this weekend
Logan Compton, a big TE out of NM who had committed to Marshall is listed as visiting UofM this weekend. I am assuming he may be following Coach Cramsey.

Don’t we have like 8 TE and one signed for 2022? Is this guy that good?

This kid seems legit. I actually like the combo of signing him as well as the other JUCO TE Landphere for a few reasons:
1) No proven depth at TE. Reminder of position group is also very young. Several walkons and WR Jeremy Tate just moved to this position group to hopefully had some passing catching options.
2) Both TEs are 6’5” 240lbs plus, which provides us match up challenges in passing game. Our QBs need big reliable targets.
3) Enables 2 TE sets to assist our running game and help “own” the edge.

*Personally, I think this is a smart idea to sign another vet TE with size & hands. Should help us “open up” our offense and create mismatches.

It may well be that RS wants to use TE for better run blocking. We all know he loves the run game.

I think that’s exactly what it is.

Lack of stats. Decent contributor. Converted walk-on QB that moved to TE. Was #3 on depth until Cameron Wilson transferred before the season.

Lack of stats due to lack of playing time? Guy is good.

He hasn’t really posted anything about his visit to UofM; however, he has posted a bit on visit to Coastal Carolina.

I thought walking on at TE was a requirement at Memphis.

I assume he is going to Washington State as well, using all 5 visits before deciding next week. I still think we have a decent shot to land him. He went to Baylor first and has seen the P5 circus for what it is. At this stage in his career, it should be about playing time, the system and college atmosphere (experience).

Our returning QB will be the huge selling point
