9-8 with 11 regular-season games remaining.

5 of which are on the road.

Plus home games against Houston.

Believe we have one road win this year.

Winning 20 regular-season games is almost an impossibility.

I will guess somewhere around 16-12 going into the AAC tournament.

So unless we win the tournament it is a given that we will not make NCAA.

However, if we do not go on some kind of run we could even be shut out of the NIT.

He over recruited. Then he further messed up the chemistry by injecting Bates, undeservedly, into the starting lineup. Its too bad he couldn't have stopped recruiting at Duren, but I assume they were a package deal.

I wish he'd handled Bates the way that Alabama has handled JD Davidson (coming off bench). Or just put Bates in positions where he is just a catch-and-shoot guy.

I wonder how good we'd been if we'd just stopped at the Lawsons and not recruited these last 2 guys. I think that Camden would have really impressed us.

Yeah, that is the most sensible answer. He should come off the bench and we should (I get sick of saying this) run some plays. Use him as a cutter, off the ball, and scheme for him to get an open shot within about 8 feet of the basket.

We absolutely have to run plays for Duren. This 4 shot a game mess is a real problem. Last night he had 1 shot in the entire first half. Playing through Duren almost got us back in the game, but then Duren went out.

It is simple things like this that really has me questioning Penny's coaching ability. Throw in switching his big on defense so he ends up at the 3 line and a guard is stuck defending their post players.

That's how they do it in the modern NBA. That's what he's selling.
The problem is that if the modern NBA played by college rules, they wouldn't play that way.

This team may not even finish above .500

Probably no post-season but even if they somehow manage yet another NIT bid does that even move the needle?

There are huge, glaring issues all over the place within the program that need fixing before the rebuild can even begin.

The last time the Tiger bb team was great was when Cal walked off the court for the last time.

Pastner's 4 kings team was pretty good but deeply flawed. And it is 8 years and counting since the last NCAA tournament appearance. Twelve / thirteen years since progression to the second weekend.

This should never, ever be the case at Memphis.
