I don’t care if UB was 0 for the season, I still hate the thought of playing at their house. Looking forward to a great game.

I note that KSU is only tenth in MAC play in scoring per game, but first in scoring defense per game. That's a 180 from the football season.

Our team really compliments it's inability to knock down open threes with a refusal to finish around the basket.

Explain to the announcer that giving up 30 points in 15 minutes is 80 points for the game. Not very good defense.

Might be the worse they have played all year. Good news is only down by 10 at half, 34-24. Buffalo can't hit a 3 is keeping us in the game. We have 3 assists. Can't make a 2 footer or it would be tied.

They said Garcia had a minor procedure on his knee but should be available for the next game. Idk about Gio.

The last 5 minutes was pure agony. UB was doing everything they could to let us back in it but we couldn't make a GD shot. We're not a bad team. We'll be competitive in most games and I'm sure teams will be weary of us in Cleveland. But man, we are not a fun team to watch. Every game the question is will our defense be good enough to make up for our helpless offense.

From my personal experience, there is no MINOR procedure on a knee.

It’s only minor when it’s on somebody else.

The very cautious optimism I had after the prior two prior games in now gone. This team is simply mediocre.

All the talk about Defense , I get it. We are very annoying to other teams . All good , but you gotta make shots. That’s the game. We miss so many layups. Davis in first half missed one because he heard footsteps. This is D1 Basketball. Go to make the easy , open shots. We don’t. Mediocre is accurate. Hopefully our streak of non-losing seasons is not in jeopardy.
Disturbing ,and we lose to the bad teams. WMU next , if we lose that one it’s time to think Kent Baseball.

9-9 seems to be quite telling. Ham and Eggs with jelly one night and anchovies the next.

RE: Kent State @ SUNY at Buffalo
A few thoughts on players...

- I'd like to see more minutes for Hornbeak. With one redshirt and one kid who didn't want to run in practice we're down to 11 scholarship players. Between COVID and injuries I think we should be keeping all 11 in the rotation because we'll likely have less than 11 available each night. Also, Hornbeak seems like he could be a force on the glass. He's at 102 minutes for the season now and he's the leader at 12.9 rebounds per 40 minutes. Hamilton's at 9.7, no one else is over 9. Last night he had 4 in 12 minutes. He could be our best rebounder as a freshman. How often is a freshman the team's best player at anything? He needs to be brought along because he could be a real big factor in the future.

- Brenden Moss must be licking his chops. By all accounts he's an excellent shooter. He should have a great chance of playing a big role as a freshman.

- I remember saying this last year as well, but Beck needs to shoot more threes. With Santiago MIA Beck is our best three point shooter. He's at 41% this year last year he was at 46%. For his career he's 38% at 49-128. I know he's not a high volume shooter but 128 is not a small sample size. At this point we know he can shoot it. And we know no one else can. So he needs to be taking 6+ threes every game from here on out. Will his percentage drop? Sure. But it could drop 11% and he'd still be above the team average. If we're going to be taking threes, let the guy who's making them do it more.
